There are so many companies that have trucks governed now, even lease trucks are. I can hear how bad the roads are when on the phone to my husband, he drives a reefer and sometimes the holes are so bad it rattles everything.
He hates how bad the trucks are neutered.
To stay in trucking or not and if so what direction do I go?
Hi rubberducky, trucking is and always has been a "peaks and valleys" thing. Sometimes it's great, other times it stinks, and you're obviously in a valley. I know equipment can make all the difference in the world, and I myself, have quit good jobs because the equipment was lousy. Rough riding trucks are kind of a thing of the past, is there something wrong causing the rough ride? I've found, most companies are unsympathetic about rough riding trucks, so you may have to make a switch. Just remember, and it's easy to forget, but there are some pretty crummy trucking jobs out there, some with nice trucks and tanker is one of the best trucking jobs there is, so plan carefully.
You clearly understand where I am at and where I am coming from so thank you for that. Yeah, I don't want to jump ship to find myself in a crummy trucking job and there are some crummy ones out there. I would prefer to stay where I am at as I know what I have at Superior. Not sure what they would be willing to do about the truck situation though. My terminal manager is more of a "yes" man with little or no clout. I have asked him about buying a different seat and he said the company would not do that on a new tractor. So there is your lack of sympathy..."semi" retired Thanks this. -
EZ Money Thanks this.

You like your job. You like your pay. Cheaper to buy a seat then a truck. Try that first. When you leave, take your seat with you.
