There are so many companies that have trucks governed now, even lease trucks are. I can hear how bad the roads are when on the phone to my husband, he drives a reefer and sometimes the holes are so bad it rattles everything.
He hates how bad the trucks are neutered.
Hi rubberducky, trucking is and always has been a "peaks and valleys" thing. Sometimes it's great, other times it stinks, and you're obviously in a valley. I know equipment can make all the difference in the world, and I myself, have quit good jobs because the equipment was lousy. Rough riding trucks are kind of a thing of the past, is there something wrong causing the rough ride? I've found, most companies are unsympathetic about rough riding trucks, so you may have to make a switch. Just remember, and it's easy to forget, but there are some pretty crummy trucking jobs out there, some with nice trucks and tanker is one of the best trucking jobs there is, so plan carefully.
You clearly understand where I am at and where I am coming from so thank you for that. Yeah, I don't want to jump ship to find myself in a crummy trucking job and there are some crummy ones out there. I would prefer to stay where I am at as I know what I have at Superior. Not sure what they would be willing to do about the truck situation though. My terminal manager is more of a "yes" man with little or no clout. I have asked him about buying a different seat and he said the company would not do that on a new tractor. So there is your lack of sympathy...

The only thing a governed truck does is keep you in more traffic. You can't stay out of it. It is ridiculous.

You like your job. You like your pay. Cheaper to buy a seat then a truck. Try that first. When you leave, take your seat with you.

This is good to know. I am not sure what the wheel base is on the Macks we have but it seems long which I would think should or would make the ride better? I don't know if all Macks have air bags on the front suspension but ours do and it makes the ride that much worse. The front end is all over the road and is hard to keep in the lane. Seems like you feel every bump in the road as well. The Pro Stars were not like this at all.

My guess is they will work with you to keep a driver. If I were a TM and buying a $700 seat keeps a good driver I would do it.

Have they had the AIR SUSPENSION checked on your truck , misadjustment on the suspension can make it ride like a buck board wagon
