Are you guys getting your loads off the load boards? If so which ones? Have been trying to decide if I should get my own authority or not. Can you "test drive" load boards? I'm in the east and would like to see what is available to get me In and out of the east coast on a regular basis.

If you're running out of NS, you're probably better off signing on with Clarke or King Freight Lines. If you want big miles south and back, they seem to have some good runs these days to TX, FL, etc. JMHO.

I'm trying to get off that roller coaster. I hate having all the risk and no control. If your dispatchers husband is in a company truck and he is unloading in the same city you are, doesn't matter you unloaded Friday, and he arrived Monday am, he still gets the first reload out... been there done that at Clarke.

He's been around a lot of years. Know a driver that was there 8 years before her and hubby moved west.

I know his rates are decent as I looked at some last week.

I run off the Transcore board and have narrowed it down the a small handful of brokers who I will do business with, mainly reefer as its pretty steady throughout the year. Transcore is pretty steep in my opinion though at $325/month for basic board + equifax scores compared to ITS or Members Edge in the US for $45 a month...but ya gotta pay to play as they say...#### thats a good rhyme!
