I'm wondering if I hang a piece of paper/cardboard/whatever in front of it if it will cause the camera to report. I'm pretty sure obscuring the lens will directly but fashioning up something that does not move and puts something right in front of it may be an option. I have no idea where our division is scheduled for these things but I may try that. Though I'm guessing against the rules for some obtuse reason. Or maybe wind chimes?

Something in front of the lens is obscuring the lens directly. It would have to be very close to be effective.
With the big sun visors on the Volvo it may be possible if the camera is mounted to the windshield.
And my guess would be that it would be a termination offense.

You bring up a good point on Volvo sun visor, maybe I'll hate this truck less. Not by much but we'll see. And yea your guess is my guess on obscuring the view but I was looking for a job when I got this one.

i was just thinking about that today. How long until they tell us that we can't put our visors down? You're right. Visor on the volvos are huge. Between the driver and passenger ones on mine. Top half of the windshield is almost completely covered.

I wonder how these cameras would have helped or hurt the drivers that were involved in that big wreck on I-80 in WY today?

I was sitting in the drivers lounge when another driver showed me a video of that event.
There were a couple trucks stopped on the highway, then one after another came barreling in.
They swerved around that first truck, to one side or the other, but a couple seconds later I could hear a crash.
One after the other after the other...
We counted 16 trucks, and a few smaller vehicles that 'tried' to go through.

There was snowfall recently, it was very foggy and the roads were slick.
Yet most of the trucks seemed to be doing 55 or better.

From an article I read it seems 2 trucks collided and one jackknifed, blocking both lanes.
Probably at least one was much too fast for conditions and started sliding.

The truck that seemed to have stopped safely, the first truck I saw in the video, got hit in the end.

One person died, many more were injured. Some 50 people came out without a scratch.
That's surprising to me, considering the number of big trucks involved.

I am smart enough not to quit before I have employment as a rule. That being said, yes I'd quit with no employment if all they have at Houston terminal are trucks with cams. I am not driving because I NEED to be earning additional family income. I'm driving because our family plans needed a second income stream in order to accomplish our goals without a strain on the "normal" family budget.

I'll die a Green Bay Packer fan. I lived in Texas for 13 years they didn't get me then! PpPpPp

I'll be in Rock Hill tomorrow. Picking up the moving truck (with no driver facing cam btw) Friday. Two hired hands packing it Friday and we'll shove off. Will arrive down there Saturday. Can't actually move in til Monday. Will spend next week making sure the girls are OK in new schools and wife is sure of her routes to her new job. Then if I've not found a new employer head up to Houston terminal.

    I'm sure it does.

And I'm sure you know more of what that means than I do.
What are WI folks known for?

I'm not being contrary. But I would like to know.
