I'm not concerned whether my hood gets painted or not. I just want my truck like it was before it was crunched.
I know how to do paint and body work myself. I sanded, smoothed out and painted my hood with a rattle can all for under $30. The only reason I didnt break out my spray gun and air tank is because I dont really want to paint it green. I want to repaint the whole truck. Just havent decided on a final color yet. When I part from my carrier (12 - 24 months from now) I want to have my name and logo on the side of the truck. Problem is,. I havent worked out exactly how I want it to look yet. Color schemes etc. When I do,.. thats when the truck will get painted.
That and its very possible I may end up selling this truck or trading it in. So as long as they put it back the way it was,.. pay for my down time. I'll be fine with that.
I'm not looking for a pay day. Thats bad karma.

So anyway,.. I was sitting at a light in the right turn lane when this old geezer dragged his bumper down my door and front fender. They ended up repainting the whole car,.. I turned around and sold the car a month later for $1000. Then bought a Honda GSX 750 NightHawk. Had a lot of fun with that bike. So sometimes you make out good. And as then like now,. I really wasnt expecting a whole lot. My dad said they would probably total out the car. But you could also get your whole car painted for $100 back then. A Macco Supreme was only $300.

Fortunately we had receipts for everything. Paid $14k for the car and almost another $15k on top of that in it. We settled for $14k and they let us buy the car back for $800. Parted it out and got almost $10k back out of it.

Crazy still how you can get a car painted at Macco cheaper than if you went out and bought enough quality paint to do it yourself.

That's in no way directed at you in any way Hurst. Its just an observation I made over the years about people that tried to get something for nothing. Sad part is all to often a guy can't get what he has fixed like it was without a battle.
Its to bad it has to be such a game.......Hurst and dannythetrucker Thank this. -

Truck has been a trooper though. I honestly cant complain. For what I paid for it and what I have in it, compared to guys with much newer trucks and the horror stories they tell me about how much they have in them. Oh hell no,.. I am very content with my hoopty.
Besides,.. I have some really nice toys at home to play with when I want to show off.
Hurstdog-c, ReeferOhio and MJ1657 Thank this.
