Don't have any rants like Cowboy does over at GFS, just dog tired, trying to get into transit. Placed a call to HR today and will probably call them tomorrow, would be pleased to get out of saleservice.
Heavy this week Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Inductions were last weekend and By gosh I had 460 cases and 10,000 at the hotel on Tuesday my first stop. What was stupid about the situation was my last stop because of time constraints should have been cut from my route without a doubt, because while I was maxed out there was probably another truck right next to me with 11,000 pounds on it.

Anyhow when I was done at the hotel I called the office and said "I don't think I'm going to make the last stop on time." They weren't mad or angry with me, because they did the math and went "Oh yeah, that's not good." What they should have done was sent the van to my first stop and the two of us could have knocked it out in half the time and that would have made a good difference, plus what was even crazier was leaving my first stop I drive by our take a long van a couple blocks away from me down town doing some other stop. They sent the van out to me to back me up still got to the high school late heard all about it. I really don't think the routers care if the customers are happy or not. Sometimes I don't always understand the way they do the balancing. Anyhow time for sleep I'm tired.

When the loaders and the warehouse selectors can't do their simple job properly. They follow none of our directions where to load the stuff on the truck when its written down right in front of their face. simply put we should of been home at 3pm today, instead got home at 8:30pm. Warehouse guys loaded our 2nd to last stop pretty bad. It's at Aqueduct Racetrack in Jamaica queens. It's the only stop where we don't have to use the 2 wheeler to unload, forklift takes it off. Anyways a selector for some reason put product from our last stop on the pallet, on top would be one thing but they were buried halfway in the pallet, I don't even understand. Were halfway across the Bruckner when we get the dreaded call and have to go back to both stores for a lousy 8 cases. Friday and rush hr traffic was all she wrote. The dry section was all over the place to begin with, For a company that does 10 mil in sales a week you can't afford to buy good load bars?

What grinds my gears even more is if you grade the loaders bad (because they get paid a commission on top of hourly for how good their rated) they will try to mess with your load and the head warehouse schmuck is buddy buddy with the loaders so you have to go over his head to get anything done.

Grade the loaders?! Peer evaluations lol. My terminal no doubt would make it a game who could get the worst and the best loader have to buy lunch for a week.

A stupid good idea fairy BS system. Please tell me desk jockeys came up with this system? :biggrin_2559:

^^^ yes they did, its so stupid. Grade the loader and grade the picker, lots of bs at my job but the drivers get paid pretty well, I can't complain, I'm only 21 and would never be bringing home this much if i went to a bottom feeder otr.

That just makes for a awkward work environment. I could never grade another co-worker, Peer to Peer , No dang way!
Desk jockeys pawning work off on the minions for dirty deeds.

Send me a PM. So I know which company never to work for.

Good on you sir, @ 21 years of age, It only gets better with some more years experience... Thanks for contributing to this thread.

Its willow run foods, I dont care if they read it. Most of the time there's an unspoken rule between drivers and loaders to grade 10's across the board but recently our truck has been really crappy. you don't want to take their bonus away but when their mistakes screw up my perfect truck bonus it pisses me off.

    PM'ed you shaggy

I'll say it again, Youns Beverage/Food folks really do like being punished and earning every dollar. Respect from me, I wouldn't last a week.

Haha everyone in food/beverage service has to have some screws loose in the first place. No normal person would ever do this type of work but then again I could never sit at a desk all day, id go nuts. One good perk about this job is all the hot babes in nyc, accident material I tell ya, quit distracting me, and the fox news building we go to, well yeah i don't need to explain anymore you get the picture
