    Mannmk,
Can I ask you a personal question?
When you first begat this thread, did you
    expect the responses you received?
    Man-0-MaN!

I think this thread has the potential to help a LOT of others in many ways.
IMO, this has turned out to be a Most Excellent Thread.

I wonder sometimes if a Big truck trucker can afford the home roots to grow too deep? Sometimes y'all gotta up-root and go where the better job opportunities exist.
    Arizona could be the place.
And it isn't a bad place to be -- albeit hot in the summer. It's one more decision to consider -- all things being considered.
    Ya reckon.

The mine rep.put exp. equip operator on my app.and was told 15-20 per hour depending on testing. They probably do a cdl type manuver test for the off road haul trucks and equipment.
The constuction co put civil on my app also.

I think even with the economy being the way it is, this part of the state still has alot of opportunities if you can diversifie your skills and look around a little and do some research. Mannmk is correct about this area being a shipping and distribution hub. Highway 93(NAFTA route)I40,highway95 and I15 is exactly 90mins away in NV. Then there is BNSF and they have a new switch yard at the Kingman airport for bulk fuel wholesellers and dry goods. If and when the dam bypass gets completed thats going to make northwestern Mohave county another sleeper community to Boulder City, Henderson and LasVegas with out all of the big city regulations.
And by the way,Kingman sits at 3500ft so its a hell of lot cooler here than what you here on the news about PHX,Havasu or Bullhead city.

Thought I would share with you guys some really good news. I got hired by an OTR company that will put me with a trainer for a few weeks to get back into it again. They want me out there a few weeks before my wife finishes school so that I will be able to train her. It's been a long time and I'm really looking forward to it.
We will be packing the house up to put everything in storage. Hopefully by next spring we will be able to purchase some property over in G.V. I probably won't be leaving till next Friday or Sunday. After that won't have access to internet till I fly back for my wife and dog. Wish everyone here the best. Good thread guys Thanks to everybody

    Hey aftershock,

To answer your question, no, I had no idea. I was just sitten here in Arizona wounder'n why Schneider didn't want someone from AZ. So, I put the question out there via this thread. I eventually found out the State of Arizona won't except training from any other school out of state. I'm still not clear on this. I think what it is is that Arizona won't except trianing from another state if you go to school in another state then come here and ask for your cdl.

So this thread is somehow helpful or more helpful that other threads? If so this is good. It's good that people could come here and be helped and helpful to others.

Roots. You maybe right the job picture may demand that we be able to move from one boom area to another, like Canada or Texas. Arizona my be one of those places in the future?

Ya, it isn't to bad of a place. Everything is as close to being like California as you can get. Thats probable why so many people from CA move here, besides the super low taxes. I'm guess'n low taxes is a big motivator. Most people don't even think about this little area. It's really an UNKOWN.

As for the heat in the summer, I don't even consider that. Me and another guy from CA were just sitten here at the beginning of the week talk'n about the temp. I said you know it's 81 degrees here in my house right now and it feels like a perfect 72 feels like in CA. Thats the way it is all the time. When it's a 100 it feels like 90 feels in CA. The temp is lower here than Vegas. Vegas is 105 in the day time and 96 at night. It never cools down. And 105 feels like 105 it's hot in Vegas. Here the temps about 10 degrees lower and at night it cools down to the 70's and 80's. A person can open the windows. You can go out side and play around, walk or run or go wheel'n or what ever you do. Vegas it's to hot night and day to do much but go to the casino's. Remember I'm talk'n about this little area around Kingman and Golden Valley. Now, down at Bullhead and Laughlin it gets HOT, Lake Havasu too, killer heat, 114-120-130 deg. for 3 mos. out of the year, Phoneix is very hot for along time. Now that's ****'* really, really hot.

Next spring will probablly be a good time to buy. The hooverdambypass will open about fall of 2010. Under normal conditions people would do more buying before the bridge opens, the market being what it is people will probably wait till after it opens. You liken the area as you've side is most important. Most of the people in Vegas are cluless about the area. Your luck you know about it. I have to say this is a VERY unique area, undiscovered new frontier.
