SiriusXM Onyx Plus.

After 3 years of having the Lynx, I finally switched over to the Onyx Plus. It's amazing to turn the radio on and it actually works! Every time!!!!! I went through years of the Lynx not performing. It wouldn't work at night, the satellite radio wouldn't initialize. The dock wouldn't charge the radio, it would randomly shut off, etc. Because of what I paid for it, I stuck with it and even got a replacement Lynx from SiriusXM, but it didn't matter. The Lynx was a piece of #### no matter how hard you tried to like it. The "Premier" radio that did everything. Everything except allow you to listen to the radio when YOU wanted. Even they knew what junk it was when they stopped updating the software in 2013.

On to the Onyx Plus. A much simpler, user friendly radio. No remote, but I never use it anyway. Album art on the display and sports tickers to keep you up to date on all the sports scores. It's very light, much lighter than the Lynx. When I bought the Lynx, it came with a dash mount, but the Lynx was too heavy to use that so you had to buy the suction cup for the window. This comes with the same set up but it's much lighter therefore it works.

The difference between the two units is astounding though. Where the Lynx could hold over 200 hours of programming, the Onyx Plus cannot. But, the Onyx actually works! All the time!!!

The Lynx had a touch screen, and I could see what channels I had programmed and just touch the one I wanted, where the Onyx has the old number system. The price difference is insane too. I bought the Lynx when it first came out. The unit itself was $250 and the dock was an additional $70.

The Onyx can tell if you have an aux cord hooked up, so no messing with the FM transmitter. Even though the Lynx had EVERYTHING, including a place to put a SD card to play your own music through the radio, it just doesn't work. Not for trucking, anyway. Maybe as just an Internet radio for SiriusXM, it has a browser and wifi/ Bluetooth capabilities, but to use Lynx in a vehicle is a gigantic disappointment. Happy to be able to listen to satellite radio whenever I want instead of when the radio wants.
