hi guys. man, this sucks. i graduated 6 months ago from a driving school with a class a cdl. i thought the hard part was over . Who wouldn't want to hire a motivated and determined guy like me? Everyone, it seems, is the answer.
i don't have a great driving record but i haven't gotten a speeding ticket in over 3 years and it has ben almost 3 since i received my last moving violation. my trainers made it sound like i was a shoe-in for any company i wanted to go to , including the companies they claim hire from them (swift, werner, trans am, covenent, etc..).
now i have tried every company i can think of and still no luck. can anyone name a few companies that might overlook my past failures to see the responsible driver i have become? thanx for reading and safe driving y'all. keep 'em turnin.

Almost 3 years since your last moving violation. How almost is almost? What was the violation? If companies like Swift or Werner won't touch you, I don't know what to tell you.

Well If Werner will not take you then you may be in for a rough ride.. Keep trying the bottom feeder companies.. maybe look for something local.. and at worst try class B till you can hookup with sombody..

That many points your going to need a lawyer to have the tickets "expunged".. this way they will be removed and you will be able to get a job.. Sounds like it may cost you $500 or more do to multiple tickets..

Truckmonky, you might also look into taking the National Safe Driving course. several years ago it was a good practice to do so, as you would gain 5 points for successful completion cost back then was about 50 bucks.

Sorry I cant help you , but just wanted to say, the school you went to, should have been a little more up front. The one we have around here, they run a report, before they will even sign you up, that does seem very unfair, that they did not check, and if they did, they should have told you.Yes you are going to have to find away to get those points knocked down, you can only have so many, and you are over. If you do ever get another speeding ticket, talk to the DA, when you go to court, sometimes they are a little more leanient of CDLs they might be willing to reduce to a parking ticket, your fines will be more , but the points will less. Good luck to you:biggrin_25520:

with 18 points nobody will touch you. sorry but it's true. keep the cdl, lose the points and til then look for work to tide you over. if bottom feeder companies like swift or werner won't touch you, then nobody will. and i am surprised that you even got a cdl with that many points. most companies look for 3 or less and it better be old violations and you better have experience to back up the talk so you can walk the walk.
