$2300 to be paid to Wayne County Michigan due to overweight on axle during frost law season. With very little in the way of needed info about the law , where to find it, and NO PHYSICAL SIGNAGE at the start and end of the local restricted roads.
Add the lack of adequate warning from SNI , Navigo routing shortest distance.
the fleet message sent on 3-20 got sent 2 hours after I called the citation in. Some of you may have seen these messages related to Mi and other states with such laws.
Informal hearing officer said last year or the year before wayne county passed an ordinance saying the physical signs were no longer needed, that web alert/ search was sufficient.
Sounds an awful lot like "legal" extortion to me.

No longer needed???...in other words we don't want to post because it would ruin our scam were doing....go figure..
TennMan, mickimause and damonarnold816 Thank this. -
mickimause Thanks this.

Wow that sucks man, like sucks hard.
mickimause Thanks this. -
Has schneider even offered to assist you in this??...like have their legal dept take Wayne co. to task over that?...it would make sense since there was no signage plus you were routed down what was a legal route.
mickimause Thanks this. -
So you have to pay 2300. I'd tell SNI they need to pay since navigo routed you. I'd get my lawyer involved.
mickimause Thanks this. -
Do you have the cdl legal plan offered by the company? This is the exact reason I have it.
-
no to the legal plan, not sure if I can still get through SNI at that rate. however the benefits portal has a link to a compnay that SNI is not a partner carrier with? WTF? Will be seeking outside plan.
This is what I have laid out to APM ( need to say , he is stand up and offered to see what he/they can do)
1. NO heads up from SNI about this to start. Not until I called it in did they issue fleet message(S)
2. OOR DOES effect bonus criteria under MPG now , so they preferring we are routed by navigo and stick to that puts them on the hook (IMO) PLUS their preferred nav system DID NOT reflect this UNTIL I SUBMITTED THE CHANGE.
3. the account has served this particular customer for 4-5 yrs. NO ONE knew about this. We are there daily sometimes twice a day.
Whatever that will do for me , I have no idea. But again, he offered to see what can be done, so I am hopeful, but not necessarily optimistic, this is SNI after all. I made it clear to him I appreciated his efforts on my behalf, no matter what the outcome.
Court was cool enough, allowing a payment plan. 500 a month 4 months plus final 300 payment by oct 6. Deputy(corporal, sargent? 2 chevron stripes) running this informal hearing was cool too, saying he knew I would ask about lack of signage stating restriction(how is that legal, I mean really?)
Monday morning QB says I should have requested a formal hearing and gotten a lawyer. Live and learn , eh?
So BE AWARE. Come Feb check all the nothern border states that have these laws. Check regularly, let my mistake help you keep YOUR money in YOUR pocket. I will at least have that in my pocket, that I could help others.91B20H8, damonarnold816 and mickimause Thank this. -

As soon as it gets cold I'd REFUSE to go to MI.
drvrtech77 and damonarnold816 Thank this.
