Hey IA Sooner are you talking to me about Givens out of Chesapeake? LOL! not sure who your message was for. Thx
DocWatson Thanks this. -
Yes that is who I am talking about. They are home weekly and pay pretty good last I heard.
DocWatson Thanks this. -
If you want to be home weekly working for Abilene you would have to live in the Richmond area from what I know. I think there are many more companies that pay lot more that the Green Machine. Do your home work on Abilene. They used to be a good company but their head dispatcher has caused a lot of drivers to leave from there. They have nice equipment but communication sucks and sometimes the hometime is a day later than you plan. I worked for them for 2 years and I just left over that dispatcher screwing with me. If you are able to get into the "GOOD OLE BOYS CLUB" you will be fine but be prepared to live under the desk.

Hey IA SOONER, they pay 36cpm and I have 10 years experience. Don't know too many that make more than that. I know a husband and wife team that has 9 years in with them and had not got a raise since 2011. They asked for one and only got 1cpm towards the truck. You most of the time have to keep asking and asking for lay over or detention time. They seem to be good until you learn their ways then you wish you had went someplace else. Just giving you a heads up.
Hey I don't know where you live but I found a company in NC if you are interested in teaming. Of course we would have to meet. Let me know. ThxDocWatson Thanks this. -
Houff has local positions open now http://richmond.craigslist.org/trp/5010723114.html I'm only at 1.5yrs or I'd apply myself they want at least two. Also theirs YRC and ABF freight, both can have you home everyday, both Union so insane benefits, OT after 8hrs/day and most importantly a PENSION!

Richmond, Williamsburg or Norfolk. There should not be a problem in finding a job in this area. Other than the LTL companies, which would be my first choice, I would have to really consider Houff. With Houff, you will be home every week-end and probably some during the week. The equipment is kept up, nothing fancy, no bells or whistles, but the basics are. The only drawback with Houff, you need to have "tough skin", unless they have changed , you are going to be talked to, well let me put it like this, "like a dog". You can make fairly decent money there and not hurt yourself.
DocWatson and mushroom1464 Thank this.
