It's because I only have to take care of myself. I don't have any kids or student loans. No girlfriend either. Don't need one right now, nor care for one. Only reason I am considering this is because I want something different. Making pizzas day in and day out gets old. Sure eating free pizza is cool, but it boring. Trucking is no problem for me as I like to be alone by myself all the time and not have to talk to people. I'm not a talkative person and I just don't care for people. Hell I'll even sleep in the truck the entire time if they let me. I don't do anything with the money anyways. It just accumulates into my bank account.
All I do all day after work is go home and read, read and read some more. If I can drive a truck while seeing the sights and during downtime read a few books and then go to sleep while while being by myself sounds like a great opportunity.
Can I just leave my job without 2 weeks notice to go into trucking?

Before I started working for pizza hut, I joined the army when I was 18 and stayed until I was 23. I was a normal-average person just like anyone else until during my last year, me and others including some of my long time friends were taken hostage and killed in front of my eyes while I barely escaped.... My life is pretty much been upside down and I just don't want to talk to anyone anymore. My boss constantly telling me to smile once in awhile and try being social just gets on my nerves so much. That is also one of the reasons I want to leave without giving 2 weeks notice.
Being in a truck by myself without having to talk to anyone much sounds like the route for me to take right now.Last edited: May 16, 2015

Bluejet, if that happened while serving uncle sam do yourself a favor and get some help. I know it's easier said then done. Check with veterans affairs office even if it was after serving. Good luck.
oh by the way 2 weeks notice is good idea. -
I have been fired and left jobs including trucking jobs without any notice hasn't stopped me from being employed. Who ever says it matters has never done it. In trucking they don't care. They want safe and reliable drivers that's it. Companies could care less what you did before trucking. Companis just call up past employers to find out if you really did work for them that's it.

You're choice of trucking schools makes me think you should leave the pizza industry with the best recommendation possible. Did you read anything on this site?
Toomanybikes and Chewy352 Thank this.
