This question is really for anyone, January and February were as usual slow than March came around and it was free for all out there loads were left and right, here we are April and May are just horrible. What happened to the freight because im sure brokers are not happy just like the drivers about current situation, are you guys hearing anything on your end about the next few months or is it just gonna be one of those years throughout?

I figured something must have happened where basically half the loads disappeared it's unusual for shippers to use them that much with fairly low diesel prices

Flatbed rates in the NE have taken a huge dive in the last three weeks as well. It sucks. I was doing better in March....

I'm seeing rates below $2 during construction season up here and a ton of short haul, which is t unusual, but those loads are usually over $3 now. And my broker is scraping to find loads that do anything more than turn the wheels. I do see an awful lot of dry vans sitting during the day, which is also not normal up here at this time of year. It's very frustrating.

Well. I'm both glad and sad to see I'm not the only one. I see loads trying to get from PA to CA for $500. From Pittsburgh to Detroit for $200. There's not only fewer loads, there's a LOT less dollars per mile. Is this a fact of the market, or are the brokers stiffing us?

So, is freight cost just a roller coaster typically? Or, is it a instance where freight cost are extremely low and that is a rare occurrence?

Definitely not a rare occurrence sometimes it doesn't happen at all but sometimes it can last for months
