Unless everyone else here knows something I don't, the answer is no.

They didn't pay me. I asked to get paid and was told I wouldn't be because I refused a truck they had (the prostar in the op. The one they tossed the work order and keys in the trash)

I know a little something about that. Thursday it took me longer just to get 14 stops delivered then the 16 and 4 pickups on Tuesday. That's just the nature of the beast.

Well, when you're new you're sometimes caught between a rock and a hard place. If USX is anything like my company, then they have their guys that complain about every little thing under the sun all the way down to what color the trucks are. Problem is, that usually means the guys with legitimate issues get tuned out and dismissed as "problem children". I have a feeling that's what may have happened with the OP.

Barring that, I have to wonder about the age of this Prostar. Was it still so new that the dealer should have been the one to rectify these leaks?

Iirc the prostar was a 2012. Had just over 350k on the clock.
Since usx was not capable of fixing leaks, i'd say yeah it should have gone to a dealer.
The breakdown department told me it would need to goto a dealer.

50 bucks a day is the downtime allowance. Most people would be reseated before that time was up. Im not most people though and saw it as a paid (minimally) Vacation. Im a trainer and make enough to cover it no problem. Usually they overload me as I grind out more students. Even with what I make, I still wont cheerlead for the maintenance department. The truth is they should have started replacing trailers 3-4 years ago and are way behind the curve now. As for the trucks, new guy with low experience etc is going to get the used up trucks that need fixin, know what I mean.

Well, that answers my question about it being under warranty. :)

And that should have been done a long time ago, if you ask me. That's what happens when issues snowball and are not rectified as they occur. Now, you have to down the truck for at least a few days just to make it liveable.

When I was in PA, I asked the shop guy if the leaks were fixed. He said "we only fix dot issues".
Hell, the truck I have now has no clutch brake. I have doubts they will fix it when I turn it in next week. So, for now I'm scouring the net for local jobs around Chattanooga. It's not going well, lol
