Another week with two trips to Hartford ct. And back to ga. Then the last trip to Harrisonburg va. I'm starting to talk a little funny. If I start calling coke, pop I'm pretty sure it'll be time for some northeast rehab. Anybody know a good clinic.

I just had to school a broker in Tennessee that the city in south Georgia is pronounced like the syrup (kā-ro), not like the city with pyramids (ki-ro). Cairo.

    That should help a little.

Once in a while I'll come across a "gringo" that's not one of our regular customers that pronounces Muñoz as Moon-yoz rather than Moon-ohs or Muh-nohs, understanding that the ñ produces a "nyuh" sound in Spanish.

Though one time when I was delivering at General Mills in Albuquerque and the security guard asked how to pronounce Muñoz. I thought, uh, you live in NM and don't know how to pronounce a Spanish name?
    Yanqui go home! :p

I'm good with most Spanish word pronunciation but some of those names that the Spanish borrowed from the Aztecs, etc. throw me for a loop.

    Ixta-what-tl?

BTW, you Georgians pronounce Villa Rica wrong. ;)

    Rocks Thanks this.

Then you really wouldn't like getting local directions to Ponce de Leon Ave. in Atlanta. There's another city like Villa Rica that I can't recall offhand. I'll remember when I'm not trying too hard.

I've had quite a few brokers also miss Cordele (core-deel), Senoia (sen-oy, Walking Dead fans would know that), Dacula (no R in that word, accent second syllable), LaFayette (capital F for a reason, spoken like two words), Buchannan (buh-cannon), and Houston (how-ston).

Another one around the south that makes me giggle is Mebane, NC. I had to look that one up after hearing it three different ways. It's "mebbin" if you don't want to tip anyone off that you're not from around there.

Rocks and wore out Thank this.
