If you are going to be in the game, you need to understand how to play it.
It's the same way with Plus-1 and the Mac 9.
Officially we are a 'forced dispatch' operation, also.
But Swift does give certain options that allow drivers to overcome that, if they understand the system well enough.
It won't always work in the drivers favor, but most times it can.

Swift is not forced dispatch.
-
But...as stated above if you know how to manipulate the system to push back you can get most really bad loads off of your back. -
Does not matter what the planers think swift is not forced dispatch you can turn down loads

My DM is running me regional instead of DT since I have hometime coming up on Thursday. Probably head to MS or IL to run DT when I get back, but idk, I'm really liking otr/regional. I might end up getting off this account...

You can always ask if there is another dedicated account with an opening you might qualify for. -
I know this is off topic but the two guys talking about being forced dispatched. We are not "forced dispatched" but you better have a good reason why you are not gona take the load. Otherwise they start to look at you like oh this guy doesnt want to work.
-
Semi-forced, then.
But I agree. There is plenty of latitude even for company drivers.
Tolan is right that you better have a pretty good reason for turning down a load, and not just 'I don't want to go there'. -
They put me on a hyper focus load after I told them I'd be at least 3 hours late because of HOS. Is that going to go against me? It's going to be even later now because of Cincinnati traffic...
