So I just passed my CDL A test Wednesday afternoon. I went to NETTTS in 2010 for my class B cdl. Passed first time as well.
I did the 540 hr program. First off, you get a $2500 Obama credit. Then, you are allowed to write off your mileage to and from.
    So 81 a week for me. 12/3/14 - 5/27/15.
    $2187 in mileage credit.
So the school ends up actually costing me just north of $6k.

The instructors are AWESOME. They have some REALLY good people there. Some are meh. The administration, I could do without them. Arrogant at best. The tests are at 5-8 weeks currently. I didn't wait that long because I made a huge uproar about it. I wrote a check with my mouth, and I did because I cashed it in the first test.
If you're Serious about trucking, and have a backbone go there. Ignore the crap out of the white collar administration. They have no clue to the struggle, as it seems they've forgotten where they came from.
If you stay focused on the game, and play it correctly, you will pass your test first time. If you're like some of the students in that yard, don't waste your time or the schools.
As for me, I went there twice. Both times I played the game correctly, and won. I'm thankful to the blue collar staff for putting up with my crap. Without them, I wouldn't have won the game.
I cannot name all the instructors who helped me, but they know who they are. Just remember you're there to learn, not make friends.

Oh, and this campus REALLY needs to reduce their class size. Too many students, not enough trucks. This last weekend before I tested, I was lucky to get one maneuver in every 45 minutes. Same for my classmates. If you can, go in the afternoon during the weekday course. There were not many students there then, and I had my pick of the trucks.
The straight back and sight side trucks were absolute toilets. They've had problems with finding a mechanic who is man enough to withstand the elements to repair the trucks. It's not their fault per say, due to the landlord they have. The registry truck I had had no reflective triangles, no spare bulbs and fuses, and the air horn didn't work. However, since I informed the trooper, I was allowed to continue my pre trip inspection. I wish the owner would just step away and let Jim run the show. As much as Jim and I bumped heads, I know his heart is in the right place. The owner should just go play with his fancy cars and rich wife and leave the teaching environment to those who do it best. Most of the road trucks were ok. I had one that the steering had more then 2" of play, and was told it was in my head by Courtney and ChucK. My classmates recognized the same problem with the same truck that day .Suppose it wasn't after all. I found it more difficult due to actually having real world experience. However, they did what I paid them to do, teach me.

Nope. Certainly not. Although I've heard some stuff about CT and providence. Imagine having to take a wore out Ryder unit out onto 95 in Providence as a student?

Yeah, it's just as bad in Bridgeport. And, the area where NETTS is in Bridgeport is nice......IF you're a bullet.

Ha ha ha. At least north Andover isn't bad. Like I said, it has it's pro's and con's. I went there twice, got my license twice. They must be doing something right.
