Anyone have the air ride front axle? I drove one with it the other day (bobtail only) and steering seemed a little squirrelly, bobbing side to side a little. Salesman said it would be better under load with less weight on steer axle. Anyone have a similar impression?

How have you liked the air ride front suspension? Is the steering sloppier?

180,000 and it seems like turbo gone. Strong whistle is out of the hood. Staying at dealer. Will keep you posted.

Got 210,000 miles and looks like EGR system failed. Ive got fmi:18 spn:3058 error message - EGR plugged. Yellow Engine sign light up and do not go. Don't feel any loss of power (yet), have to come back home and replace ALL sensors Rawze said and clean EGR pipes out of soot.

Also for unknown reason skipped changing of main engine oil filter. Well, it failed: I've experienced enormous fall of oil pressure, down to 20psi and red warning light (!?). Stopped on a truck stop overnight and changed oil filter for new one. Oil pressure recovered back to normal reading: 20-22 idle, 35-36 under load. Moral: for under any circumstances DO NOT SKIP MAIN OIL FILTER CHANGE. Even if you have oil bypass filtration system like I do.

210,000 miles and drives look very good. Steering will be changed on 220-230's. Current steering pair (michelin xza3+) looks perfect (fingers crossed).

Mirrors on hood totally failed. Mirror surface on a bottom of mirror circle faded and pealed away. These suckish mirrors were my biggest mistake during booking of this truck. New style square shaped mirror cost $475+tax (A PIECE !).

I am sorry for your EGR trouble.... Actually more than sorry. Lol. I always feel a punch in my stomach if I read your trouble... I worry about my future. Lol.
At 200,000 miles my problem with the engine was a turbo actuator a few months back.
The steer tires about at the end of their life, mainly because the right wears the outside fast. I rotated at 120,000. Without this issue it would happily run 30,000 more.
The single wide Michelin XDN energy has 47% useful life left if wearing in the same rate.
My fuel milage still very good, or at least I am happy with. Winter I averaged around 8, now in the low to mid 9.
However my oil change approach is quite different. I believe these engines are rather complex and sensitive pieces, these modern oils are "liquid enginering" not simply lubrication. I use my Spinner II to run on cleaner oil, not run longer. I keep the Cummins recommended 40,000 miles and use Delvac 5W30 synthetic . The oil always in excellent shape when I replace it, with 4.6-4.7 active additive left. Altough officially any more than 1 is good, I do not believe the concentration does not matter. Especially since I use up 60% of it during the first 40,000mls.... But we will compare our experiences in 10 years.

    Grijon and deming807 Thank this.

What is your maximum turbo pressure? Mine reaches 30, and I worry about it. I know it goes higher in summertime, but I do not remember this high. Also this is how my actuator went wrong. My turbo pressure went up to 38psi and got the check engine light between 25 and 38. It was on and off. Tho no CEL now. I called Cummins and they said it is okay, and if no CEL, no reason to worry. But they do not know, I am not owner, I am a truck's parent.:D
