O/O's, what is your opinion on bumper Guards? Are they worth the expense? Have they worked for you?

If you like yours, were you able to get them used? What would you suggest for a Cascadia?

Well, if it keeps you on the road making money instead of being towed to a shop following a deer strike on the highway or a mega backing into you at a truck stop, then they'd be worth the investment. I personally don't have one because my bumper is pretty stout by itself and I need a new hood anyway. They can be pricey, but compared to what some folks on here have gone through after the wrong truck tries to park next to them, if I spent any more time at truck stops than it takes me to fuel and get the heck out, I'd be considering one, too.

Just gonna post my close friend experience. Hit a deer, bumper, headlight along with radiator were gone. Had to spend the night on freeway. Repair bill including towing was over 7k. He had to pay 1k deductible and his insurance was raised by $180 per month. Oh and I did not count two lost days of work.
If he paid 1500 for a guard all this could have been avoided

Yea, I'm looking at is as basically an extra insurance policy of sorts. It would suck really bad to have a random deer put me out of work with a big repair bill. I'm pretty sure that I will get one.

From what a few posted over on the PRIME section it saved them from major DEER DAMAGE and as the OP was looking for something for a CASCADIA IT WAS A SUGGESTION,

those small ones, besides not being a big clunky eyesore, insanely expensive, or adding 800 lbs are highly effective at reducing costs in an animal collision.

I appreciate all these responses. I think the consensus is to get one. I will research them and see what I can afford and go from there. Thanks guys.
