I'm assuming you want to idle? So that cold water won't do it.
We were told in training to send a Qualcomm message in that read, "idle for driver comfort on (date) for about (number of hours idled.)"
Be sure and include your driver number.
I "fool" that silly thing every time I isle. ...it reads a good 5 degrees higher than it should. If your truck shuts off on you even if you've hit the override switch then something is wrong with the truck. Unless you have a park smart unit or apu or device installed that will cool without idling you should be able to override the sensor.
Your favorite thing about working for Schneider...least favorite...?

if the ambient temp is within the range set , there is no way to my knowledge to defeat or fool it.
now the way bonus metrics seem to be set up for most is based on MPG which idle affects. as long as you watch your metrics on crossroads regularly , you can idle for periods of time while staying in whatever percentage the metric may be for your board.
Look for shaded areas or if you can park trailer tail to the sun. try to back in in such a way as to have the trucks on either side block the sun from the cab. Look into battery operated/ 12v fans that can help too . They sell hard plastic window screens but baked urine smellls at TS make that a difficult choice. However if you do choose to get them DO NOT buy them from SNI. can be found from the manufacturer for about $10 cheaper. TS pricing seems to be the same. Alternatively, save up points on the pilot card and get SNI to pay for them!!Vilhiem Thanks this. -
It's hard for me not to idle. High humidity and parking to sleep in the daytime pretty much kills any chance of me not idling...
Even if I couldn't use a qc message to removed charged idle...I'd happily give up my bonus to sleep comfortably.knuckledragger and TKR117 Thank this. -
Vilhiem Thanks this.

I like idling...ever since I was a kid subtle vibrations has always put me to sleep. Should I ever get a newer truck equipped with an apu or something, I'm not sure what I'll do. -
Too lazy to go anywhere else.
dieselfuelonly and Vilhiem Thank this. -

And I did that some in the winter. Not joking...though prior to having to wear that #### sleep apnea mask, no joke I'd sleep through a train parking directly behind me. One of the shippers I deliver to has a train that rolls through and stops by daily.Drifter42 Thanks this. -
Of course, if you know where the ambient temperature sensor is, you'll see how easy it is to unplug...knuckledragger, Vilhiem and TKR117 Thank this.
