Wait, cdl or PERMIT?
Cause of you got your cdl...geez that was fast.
Either way, congratulations!
...maybe it just seems short to me. Holding a full time job down while doing the training makes it take longer...
Now you can be forced into a lease, take on a trainee or forced out of the truck!![]()

Gotcha. As long as it works out for you @Lekwid . Yeah that 9 month was one of the things that got me too. Shouldve been 6 cause I'm a vet but that didn't happen. I did call Schneider and asked about my options.. they said if I had 6 months safe driving and left on good terms with CRE that they'd take me for the tanker position over here in Texas. They have other positions too but not interested in anything else. Like you said, 6 months is key I guess so Im gonna take the long haul and move on when the time is right.
Other than that, how's your training (refresher) going so far? -
Hahaha thanks @Vilhiem, CDL
Yup, just 2 weeks. Some people have been here for 3 still trying to get their permits
Just waiting for them to ask me to lease so I can give em a big hellllll no. I hope I don't get a ####ty trainer when it's time to go OTR. If so that'll have to change real quick. One thing I do like is if you don't like your trainer or yall don't get along, you can request a new one.. of course it'll take away from pay as you won't be driving while waiting but still it's worth it. -

Thanks @Night Prowler !

I test on friday, we went on highway to shift today got a 92 on the eval. How do you leave at say 6 months on good terms. People already talking about getting cdl and dipping lol
-
Heh...if they wanna do that let them. They'll still owe the money and be jobless.
Even when working for beans I can't think of a more stupid way of doing it than biting the hand that feeds them.
Leaving on good terms is easy. (Sorta). No accidents, no incidents, don't cause trouble and be a model employee. Then, when you're ready to leave get routed past one of their terminals, don't be under a load and hand them the keys. You can give two weeks notice if you want, but that's had mixed results.Last edited: Jun 16, 2015
TexasBoy Thanks this. -
Ya trying to get my time over with cre as soon as possible.

My advice is to start looking for a better job as soon as you get your hard copy. Make payments on your debt to England. Anyone who tells you that you have to do a certain amount of time at a company is feeding you BS. Lots of companies are willing to give a guy/gal a shot and pay a decent wage.

Hows it going paratrooper
