And a "Strike" will solve that situation, .... how?:dontknow:

Are you suggesting Truckers receive a free ride?
MANY folks are now experiencing financial difficulties, not only Big truck truckers. To appear to be putin' the squeeze on everybody at this time would do what for our reputation(s)?

Right now, we ALL gotta do what we gotta do just to survive. Time to work TOGETHER, IMO, --- for the betterment of ALL of us.
    Divided, we fall.

    Will some truckers fail?
    YuP!
And many already have with many more soon to follow.
Big truckin' companies are goin' under too.

Same thing(s) are happening to other folks, as well though.
And SOME of those OTHER folks are lookin' at Big truck truckin' as a way to keep their heads above water.
Not so much out of a desire to become a Big truck truck driver, but rather more out of desperation.
Do ya'' think that's gonna to improve truckin'?
Or drive the wages of more experienced drivers down?

    Shux Howdy!
Now-a-daze, Big trucks drive themselves and it seems ANYone can do it.
    Skill?
    What skill?
    We're gettin' automated.
    Right out of skilled gig.
    That's progress, I guess.

We'll be hearin' the ol' There's PLENTY more desperate, unspoiled and unaware wannaBees out there willin' and forced to put up with truckin' if YOU don't want the job, driver -- song and dance routine.

    HaiL!
We're hearin' it now if anybody is listinin'.
Bottom line is the bottom line -- the one that reflects PROFITS.
Investors demand profit, and the truckin' companies are in business, not to relocate freight or keep their drivers employed for a lifetime, but to generate said profits for their investors.
It's always been that way and I suspect it always will be (that way).
    ChA- CNING ! $$$$$$$$
    Follow the Money Trail.

However, when the economy finally improves, and the jobs those folks USED to do become available again, ...... how many of them do y'all think will remain in the truckin' industry, and how many will go back to where they came from?

And after the experienced drivers have found other employment to put food on the table because the Big truckin' companies realized more profits by hiring newBees, will THEY even WANT to return to Big truck truckin'?
If not, ----- who will the Big truckin' companies fill their empty seats with?
More trainees from a dwindling CDL Mill supply?
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

    Maybe.

Or could it be another great opportunity for Jose, Juan, Pablo, and/or Sancho to keep, or get, their foot or feet in the boarder door(s)?
After all, by then, Big truck truckin' just MIGHT be one of those jobs NO American wants to do (anymore).
    Ya reckon. :biggrin_2558:

I don't buy it, with the things you say on here I can't see how you think like a businessman. Sorry just speaking my thoughts.

    Question,

How do you find time to run to "successful" businesses if you are on here all day everyday posting?

One business takes enough time out of the day to run, but 2?

Question, why does someone get banned, when MANY people on here critize us and call us names as well are still here? Sounds like the rules don't apply to everyone here. Bigdiesel did nothing more than the rest of us on here. Go back and read the entire thread, and many othere threads were big diesel was and tell me if Bigdiesel is anymore wrong than some other ones on here.........

    Just my 2 cents......

My brother, a trucker of 20+ years, says the trucking shutdown being bantied about is being organized by Canadian trucking to show the truckers in the United States who runs U.S. trucking. Is this really the case? Are the Canadian truckers trying to take our truckers' jobs away? He says they get fuel subsidies and tax breaks, too. He says they get preferential treatment by DOT. How can that be? How fair is that?

I dont' care about your buisness nor do I care about anyone else, but I just don't belive you even own any businesses this is why I said what I did..

You call me "silver spoon fed" I call you "wannabe businessman" ....

    Understand this please,

After all of your posts in a variety of different threads here I have come to the conclusion that you are not a businessman at all its my opinion and you can't change it (well maybe if you start posting like a smart businessman).

After all these PAGES of strikes, OOIDA, etc. etc. threads NOBODY can answer these 3 simple questions,

    1. What is your solution?

    2. Who is the leader/spokesperson?

    3. How are we going to go about this strike?

BigDiesel was banned for good reasons. Lets leave it at that.

Insulting a moderator here is a serious offense.

All we ask is that everyone respect each other and act like adults. He couldn't do that, so he was shown the door.

I think you opened yourself up for cross-examination when you mentioned that you run two successful business in order to make a point.

Kinda like tellin' someone that'cha know what'cher talkin' bout, 'cause you wrote the book.
Stands to reason SOMEone might venture to ask what that book is about -- sooner or later.
    Ya reckon. :biggrin_2558:

    I doubt that!

Why does everyone cry about unfair treatment by the DOT?

Here is a list of how we break the law

    1. Lie on the log book even if it is a 15minute lie (I fall under this)

    2. Speed (I also fall under this)

    3. Occasionaly run overweight (again myself included)

    4. (Okay this falls under FCC) have more power then allowed on CB's (again me)

    5. Unsafe Equipment (not me)

    6. Tinted window (me)

    7. Jaking where the sign says "no engine breaks" (ALWAYS ME and for the record I think it is a stupid law)

    etc. etc. etc.

Now the DOT occasionaly catches us on infractions but I am sure most of you break the rules more than they do catch you. I have never felt I was treated unfairly by a cop 99.9% of the time I deserved what I got.
