Yes, KW. Claims ask me what truck weighed. They had on file 17900 lbs. Told them 22600 lbs. I turned in the scale ticket but no one updated the computer!! Surprised???
My unladen weight which is no fluids, oil, fuel, apu, no engine, no tires, none of my stuff is 17900 lbs. But that's what is on my registration.

It's soon to be the person that pulled the load up to Carlisle problem. Funny, when I went inside to get the bills and saw the weight, I asked for the scale ticket from the previous driver. It was a HV load. "Oh, that driver didn't leave one". Thought the rule was, any load over 40000 lbs, was to have a scale ticket on a relay. "Well, he didn't leave one". And of course, the computers are down until 6am eastern time. Then you have to get in touch with claims for being overweight. Tell them I'm 3000 lbs over gross. They say, " yeah, but what is your axle weights? We have to analyze the weights". WTF???? Then I get the message from claims, "we have to take that load off you because you're over gross". REALLY????? I told you that 2 hours ago!!!!

Well its my understanding we should be scaling any load over 30k. On relays we fill out that little worksheet on the pumpkin pads stating how much fuel our truck had ,5th wheel position , what hole position the tandems were etc

Strikes me that there is a good lesson here. You IC's should follow up with your ica's to make sure your actual loaded and fueled weight is correct.

Well, with choice, it doesn't really matter. I know what I weigh and how much I can haul. It's when CS can't put in the correct weight or the customer doesn't know when to stop loading or how to load a trailer or how to figure up the weight correctly. I swear some just pluck numbers out of the air.

You are correct, my mistake, just reread the message dated 6/1/15. But since I have a load gauge in my truck, I seldom have to scale a load. And I can't drop relays except in Laredo, TX. The Mexicans don't care what the weight is. LOL

man I'm glad I got out of Chicago and didn't end up going to Wisconsin...
"large hail" and few tornadoes are on the way tomorrow.
I don't normally check the weather much anymore being ice skating season is over but hail and crap like that sucks too.
    Be safe out there.

man rates really do suck out west.
I looked country wide to see where the cheapest freight is..
Loads from AZ, OR and WA to CA pay in the .60-.70 range.
It's like you're hauling for fuel money just to get to CA lol.

Man I thought trying to leave New England or Florida is terrible.. getting INTO CA is even worse.
