I plan on running where the money is as well. If I need to get home, I'll fly I think. I am not concerned with running the west region really, I just want to make money so I can get out of debt ASAP! Then I can move on with my life, start a trucking company, and take over the world with robot dogs that control humans........Or just save up enough money to buy my truck, then a few rental housesThat's much easier then taking over the world plan I think

So I'm thinking about maybe possibly looking into Choice. Can someone tell me what freight looks like in the Louisville area?

I just don't want anybody to think they can pull off big bucks out west cause it ain't happening.
Schneider saying out west compares to elsewhere is a joke.
If someone wants to work hard where the money is at then good money can be made.
Dunno if leasing a truck and etc while in debt is a good idea cause poop happens.. that's life.
Like when Kenworth screwed up my truck so when I pulled off their lot I had fuel spraying everywhere and had my clutch go out the same day by coincidence.
All and all that put me out of work for two weeks with the truck in the shop and those fixed costs don't stop coming. So managing that and having reserves is important.
It sounds terrible and it was but at least I don't come back to work having to dig myself out of for cheap like at other fleasing companies that pay by the cheap mile.
If I need money then it's hey okay midwest and Northeast .. work hard and then bam $3k in a week after expenses.Last edited: Jun 23, 2015

The highest paying load in Louisville tomorrow goes to Minersville, PA for nearly $1,300
Or there's regional freight in the area that pays well too. -

I'll give my 2cents here in regard to the west and choice in general. Remember this is my opinion and only that, if i lived out west i would not join SNI choice, unless i was planning on staying out long periods, i live in knoxville, generally a good area for freight, lots coming to this area and going through this area, i try to be home once every week or 2 at most. So thats my situation. What im saying is freight is alot better this way then the west, and you still have to be smart and very carful with what you do, its truly not as easy as it sounds, "oh just pick my loads from this load board and im good to go! Making lots of money" its not as easy as it may sound, im not trying to discourage anyone im just being realistic as alot of other sni drivers on here are. I dont regret coming here and signing on the line for one second, i love my job and what i do, that doesn't mean its not hard and a great deal of financial responsibility, with that said, the pressure to get good loads to meet your financial situation at home AND your truck can be overwhelming at times. I talked to a driver 2 weeks ago outside Atlanta that started when i did, in march, and he was having lots of issues with making the money he needed to cover his bills, i asked where he ran, his response was "out west alot"
It doesn't matter if you live out west, but you do have to run alot smarter and you may need to be away longer to make it work, i dont have a house payment, no car, no kids, just a Girlfriend but shes cheap lol, i only pay on my cell phone service, and ofcourse my truck. Those payments keep coming, each week. And if your only left with cheaper freight to book, then it may be alot more difficult. Really this is a general opionion not only for guys living out west,, but anyone thinking about choice. Does this program work for me? Yes. Am i happy? Very. Would i do this if i had a wife, house, car payments and kids? Probably not. Thats just me everyone has a different show in life, it does take alot of hard work but it is worth it, it also takes alot of consideration to make sure it will work for anyone thinking about coming.Dominick253, trucker91, drvrtech77 and 4 others Thank this. -
