Does anyone else have a PACCAR MX that has the have the fuel filters changed a lot? About every 10k miles I have to put new ones on and they are expensive. We can only fill at Pilot/Flying J but this is rediculus!

Had the mx13 and constant problems with it, paccars answer to everything was "change the fuel filter." I did this twice at 20k ea before I brought the truck back and got a FL with the dd15.

Is there actual dirt in them?
Have taken a saw and cut one in half?

Have you checked the inside off your tanks?
If your tanks are dirty, every filter will give you problems.
That dirt is coming from somewhere.

    GYPSY65 Thanks this.

Is it the Paccar filter or the Davco filter you are talking about? Is your filter restriction gauge telling you it needs changed or is your Davco bowl full?

It's both, you can't see the PACCAR filter but the bowl gets full and it is very black before it gets full, I don't have a fuel restriction gauge wish I did. And when you take out the PACCAR filter it's black too.

I'm having similar problems with my bowl getting full prematurely.
I even sent my filter back to Baldwin for analysis. They said the filter was not plugged.
I wouldn't worry about the filter looking black as I believe that is just the byproduct of more soot being in the fuel from the egr system.
I haven't noticed any performance problems but the bowl filling up prematurely is a mystery.
