As far as I know, Prime doesn't hire tow companies that prowl the lot...Good choice on driving... Not much saving on money versus the horrible hound ride that some do...I would rather drive myself versus sit on a bus...Also depending on how long you are awaiting on a trainer at least you will have some wheels to scoot off in... This time of year you got the Ozarks to check out... Beyond worth it.... GL to you

Thanks! That's what I thought too!

If I am still around this weekend (which I might be - I have to schedule sleep apnea test here with Prime) I'm going to go explore!

The rest of the day today, I went to a Sleep Apnea meeting and then did CBT's until about 6 or so. Will probably finish tomorrow!

Won't have to get up so early tomorrow.

    830 - Intro to Logging
0915- Apex Testing (which I guess is "job specific PT"?)
    More CBT's
Dispatch Operations class - I'm going Reefer
    and a Tax Prep Class.

And maybe I get my Sleep Test scheduled?

    Busy day tomorrow.

No limit, as that what it is there for.

They'll want you to keep your tags up to date & not expired.

Mine has been there almost two years.

Think I may have even driven it 3/4 times in that time!

    Also, two things:

Sleep Testing - It wasn't really ever mentioned until you get to Medical, then the guys who have to take it will be talked to. Also, I guess they don't really explain that the costs are taken out of pay and NOT upfront (at least that's what others in the class had told me).
I knew to ask about that because of the helpful information on here.

Leasing - Leasing was never mentioned until we had a Q&A and one of the trainees had questions on it. It was never pushed!

It seemed like a lot of folks in my group had thought they had been lied to (which may have been the case) because they were unaware of a lot of the process.
Maybe, because of all the research I did before hand (TTR and others), nothing that took place today surprised me or was unexpected.

The staff are amazing here and always open to answering questions (even though it feels like us, trainees, are bugging them).

Gotta hand it to the hardworking lunch ladies! They have many mouths to feed three times a day and they do a great job at it.
The food is pretty good actually (except for that chicken with cheese sauce they had last night - made me a little sick on the outbound....)

Alright, Day two is almost in the bag!

Had Log training in the morning as I mentioned last night.
    CBT's
APEX testing - lift a few boxes with weights and climb a ladder up to the second rung. Not too hard.
    MORE CBT's
Got a presentation from John - he is a Fleet Manager for Company drivers on the Reefer side.

Got a business card for Abucus CPA (don't think I'll need them).

One thing that does concern me a little is all the payment plan deductions from my paycheck.
I will be required to pay $55-$85 a week (depending on if I need a CPAP or not) and there is a bunch of equipment Prime requires us to purchase (load locks, chains, etc.). It's all available to be put on a payment plan.

I just don't want to end up with a $400 paycheck every week, but I don't really have much of a choice.

The good thing is that I don't have to take out advances to cover the next couple weeks until I get paid as long as they can renew the meal card until I go with a trainer.

I have a feeling I won't be getting outta here until Friday at the earliest since it takes 24 hours for the Sleep test results to come back.

    Any thoughts on that?

What are these sleep tests all about? What is involved with them? Meaning what do you do? Lie in a bed attached to machines and they monitor how you sleep? Secondly, why are Prime trucks so darned slow? I love y'all like brothers but dang y'all are some slow movers!

No. I think I'm actually doing the sleep study tonight. They told me to be prepared to go to sleep when I report to the Sleep Center office at 9:45pm. Fine by me I guess.
