This radius thing has got me worried now. I applied for Seymour but I live in Sc. I've passed everything but I'm waiting on the call for orientation. I've got an apartment lined up in Seymour if I'm hired. Hope it all works out. I think I'm gonna call Seymour tomorrow and ask if I'm ok.
Walmart here I come!

the radius deal is happening, gonna be some changes for drivers. You will have to have an address that is functional within 250 miles of home terminal.
-
Why would anyone want to live that far away from work anyways. That kills your home time. That doesn't make sense to me. Why wouldn't you just move closer to the DC?

wish I could answer the new hire thing, but if the old drivers are going to be forced to change, then I would imagine it may complicate new hires. I agree by the way, anymore than 250 is sort of unsafe anyway. If you do get hired on past the 250 radius, then I would imagine getting "established" will be required.

no.... don't do that. I am only relaying what I heard and signed with my GTM. If you can call some sort of hiring contact, they may give you a different answer for now. But it sounds like the 250 mile radius is happening and a functioning address within that distance will be required. Please verify as a new hire though, before withdrawing.

Note: The applicant must live within 250 miles of the facility to which she/he is applying; or be willing to establish a residence within 250 miles of the facility prior to the first day of work (orientation).
This is now at the bottom of the drive4walmart web page. As demi said if you are currently out side the 250 radious, I suggest you call recruiting to find out what you can do. I wish I had more info but I don't. Please call recruiting to find out if that rental you have lined up will be OK.noninetofive Thanks this. -
I just passed the phone interview and was told I would receive a call to schedule a pre trip test and road test.
Any advice? What to expect?
I know how to handle a vehicle but I am a bit intimidated since this company seems to be the cream of the crop.Last edited: Jul 1, 2015
