"The woman, too shaken up to appear on camera, said she was driving to Sandestin with her family when she noticed a truck swerving for several miles.
The woman says the truck driver appeared to be distracted, and his head was “bobbing up and down.”
“We couldn’t even see his head,” the woman said.
Shortly after noticing this, the truck driver collided with her vehicle, the woman said, causing a pile-up accident. The woman and her family members in the car say they are lucky to be alive."

Young woman was from Texas. The witness claims the trucker was "head bobbing" and "you couldn't even see his head" for several miles before the wreck. Article also says the trucker had a child in the truck. The witness story sounds a little exaggerated to me, but that is purely speculation on my part. I'm interested to hear an updated story on this one. Sorry for the family's loss.

I remember east of Tucson Arizona several years back they had the East bound lane shut down with two-way traffic on the west bound lane. Just as I got on the two-way going west I heard over my CB that a U-Haul truck was coming my way and it was severing back and forth and had nearly hit several vehicles that it was meeting. A truck driver was following it and telling about this U-Haul truck trying to warn everyone that was meeting it.
Right soon I saw it coming at me and it was bobbing all over the road and when I met it, it came on my side. Thankfully I had been warned and was going slowly, I ran off the side of the shoulder to keep it from hitting me head on. Yet when I met this U-Haul truck I saw a young boy setting in the passenger seat, I could just barely see his head and to me the driver looked as if he was drunk and or was driving while he was very sleepy. I've always wondered if they finally wound up in a bad wreck.
I've seen incidents like this several times and when I do I try my best to stay out of their way. If I'm behind them I will stay way behind them. Some people will try to pass them and that's the most dangerous thing one can do. -
This is another reason cell phones must be able to be used in a moving vehicle. I'd have been on the phone with 911 and hung at a safe distance behind. No way I'd attempt a pass of a truck swerving bad, for considerable time.

Freedom of speech? When does that apply? Truckers can't text. Isn't that a form of speech?

I guess they checked his cell and saw no calls were being made. Too bad they didn't go into more detail on what happened. -
