I wouldn't say he doesn't know anything, I made good money with him, I'm not with Eagle right now due to family issues, but I will say this, if you don't like your DM, get another one, or book loads yourself, if you fail, you are the blame, not the DM's.

If you are going to run with Eagle, you have to think, and work the system to your advantage. It is a young company with growing pains, and for the most part, most brokers are not going to give you their best rate until you prove that you are reliable, keep your equipment up and your insurance, permits, up to date.

Eagle gives you the tools, what you do with them is up to you. There is a lot of good info on this thread from other Eagle drivers to help in some way, but ultimately, you determine if succeed or fail.

There is a list of approved brokers, call them and find out how you can either access their load board or get loads from them. They will ask for your MC number, you give them Eagle's, and Eagles address, the one on West Raymond, not the one on N. 30th, and then start working with them, be dependable, and they will start giving you better rates and loads. Once you get a load, a day before you drop, start looking for another one, let the broker know what you want, short runs are best, we are chasing the money, not miles. It's a lot of computer, and phone work, but its worth it, remember, its your business, you are the CEO.

Guys, this isn't hard, it is a lot of work, and you are taking some risks, but if you think and make good decisions, and are willing to learn, before you earn, you will do well, not many lease purchase companies will give you the freedom like what Eagle has, Celadon lease guys are forced dispatched, and run a lot of East Coast, you guys decide where and how you run, but you have to know what the lanes pay, and where the dead spots are, for instance, I like running West, great if you have a reefer, not so great with dry van, at least for Eagle, but that may change in time.

I booked a load going to Vegas from IN, light load plenty of time to get there, but when I got there and unloaded, I sat 3 days until I found a load out of the area going back to the Midwest, Houston for that matter, and it was a heavy load of bundle clothing going from Goodwill in N. Vegas to Houston, came in at nearly 45k, and I had to drag this heavy cheap load over some good size hills, burned a lot of fuel, made no money, but that was all on me,not my DM, he told not take that Vegas load in the first place, hard to get out of the area, well I didn't listen, booked it anyway, and ended up doing a lot of work for no money, but I learned from it, picked myself up, and moved on to other loads.

ok, I understand what ur saying bout how freight run and the rate. its just how can u book with a broker with out their assistance. I just believe it should be a joint workmanship, not leaving a operator on the line when they hold the major part of the key, processing ur load connect.

Well after spending 6 hours reading this thread and researching Eagle, I'm going to jump in the deep end and see if those swimming lessons were worth the money.
A question I have is, if I plan to do DV, which truck do I have the best chance at success with? New vs used, apu vs non apu, power vs mpg. Which truck, specifically is the all around best choice for DV?

    THANKS EVERYONE

Does anyone like the volvo? That's what I drive now and I love NEVER being overweight because it's so much lighter.
