Being opened and sharing with students is very cool, I respect that.

Gotta say though being paid .90 on dispatched miles I don't see how going out of route 500 miles helps a any.
.40 or so of that alone goes to fuel

Hey op I have a proposition for you. So many doubt you, including myself. If you show a copy of those w-2's or cre settlements with proof I will personally send you 50 bucks. And then you will have 53 bucks in your pocket instead of three and the satisfaction that we were wrong

During the winter months, when I-80 is iced over, no way I'm gonna have my students driving on that, or better yet they close the road. Better to drop down I-70 and keep it moving, than be a sitting duck on I-80 for a day or two. Every once in a while I'd even drop down to I-40. My DM always RE-ROUTED my trips so I got paid, whenever I when out of route on certain loads, like FEDEX or Conway loads. I have zero late loads on my DAC as well. It's all about how you look at things.

Think about it a minute. That's averaging 957 miles a day. Seven days a week. That's hard for me to swallow. I don't care how many people you've got in a truck. You've still got loading and unloading, fueling. You've got to shower an eat sometimes.

You also can't be off duty while trainee is driving. It's illegal! You have to sleep. Which means the truck has to stop for some time. All them photos of you and not one in a truck?

It's all good, keep your money. You choose to believe what you want. What I find crazy, is people here are struggling to understand I made that at England when I was there. There are ton's of people that made more than me training. I was a Lease Operator. There were owner ops, doing the same thing I was doing. I only met five other trainers when I was with them. 2 of them were owner-ops, and netting about $175K a year. The other trainers that did what I was doing and lease ops, were making about 105K or so. There was this Owner op running for England that wasn't even a trainer, and he was making about $1500 every week running solo. I averaged about $2500 a week, but had to train and always have 2 students on the truck with me. On top of that, when I would take the 1 month off in December, once I got back in the driver seat, I was automatically $3500 in the negative for my truck payment. I didn't let people drive my truck when I took time off. But then again, that was the only time I ever took off the whole year, from December 15th-January 15th.

Well, time to go back to looking at companies to apply to. I was looking at heartland express, and their pay seems incredible. Does anyone know much about Heartland Express? I seem then on the road, but never talked to a driver with them.
