Maybe - but he just wrote me back saying he'd take care of it, so hopefully he will!

I'm happy to pay for a service - I know there's no way I can move it myself, so I have to rely on the information I can get to help move it faster. If there was a way for an end user to go into this website and list the car myself, I would have done that - and I would be able to see what other offers are out there on my route and push my price up based on that.

If that interface doesn't exist on the listing service you guys use, maybe it should.

Maybe it'll put a hurting on the broker's business, but honestly, what's the harm in that - survival of the fittest? I'd much rather cut the middle man out anyways instead of paying a $90 commission to someone just for listing something on a website for me & not doing any real work.

Their sales pitch is that they only use truckers they trust and truckers that have a solid reputation (and not having seen the interface myself, I can't verify that) - my assumption is that they use whoever is willing to transport it for whatever price they set and since the insurance is all on your end, they not liable for anything at all, so it's a pure profit business for them (which is why there are so many of them, presumably low overhead costs).

Hell, you guys should create an auto-shippers union and organize and i'm willing to bet you'd make more money in the long run & customers would get a better feeling about this process!

The guy just wrote back saying he's offering $700 to a trucker, so I think that's a good thing - it's 51.8 cpm, so I assume this will be picked up. They guaranteed me $740 quote, so I'm curious if they'll up the quote from $740, or only take a $40 commission. Seem a bit low if they say they'll rebate $20 bucks if I write a review.

It may seem like they don't do much but they do. Its more legwork than you would think, arranging transport for a car. I list cars frequently that I cannot get to so I've been on that side of things. There are PLENTY of bad apples on the trucker side too. Even some of the ones that have good ratings can be horrible at communication, and think they don't have to call or answer the phone at all until 15 min before they want to pickup or deliver the vehicle(morons).
