Dear Truckers,
My name is Andreas Chen. I work for a tire manufacturer which is based in China.
The reason I join this forum and post this thread is to hear voices from you, the end users of the tires.
This is the first time we enter North America tire market. Your advice will be much valuable to me.
Our tire brand is Companion which is totally new to the users.
May I ask you about your attitude to a new tire brand?
Quality is the most important thing. My company put quality before everything.
Our technical team is from Hankook and our equipment are all from Gremany.
Look forward to your reply. Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Andreas
Hope to hear voices from truckers regarding tires

Are you marketing to "budget minded" market or "quality and safety minded" market?
If you employ a large number of drivers who don't care, the company is looking for the cheapest tires possible since they are going to get trashed anyway. If the company has drivers who care about safety and fuel economy and know how to turn without hitting curbs several times a day, a company is looking for quality, long-life tires that are quiet ... and money is not so much an issue as long as the extended service life justifies the higher cost.Andreas Chen Thanks this. -
Chinese tires have a really poor reputation in the USA.
I would never buy a Chinese tire. You will never be able to convince me that the quality was anywhere near that of a tire made anywhere else.Andreas Chen Thanks this. -
"Care about safety and fuel economy and know how to turn without hitting curbs, looking for quality, long-life tires that are quiet" Thank you very much. -
Dinomite Thanks this.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience with Gold Coin, several of our trucks were outfitted and developed shakes and shimmy, we spent a lot of $$ chasing the issue to finally discover it was tire induced, Gold Coin left us stranded with no Warranty or satisfaction...

I don't know the brand Gold Coin. Shame on the bad quality and the bad attitude when problem occurs. -
Quality is the most important thing. But it will take a long time to establish a good reputation. Some of the Chinese tires seem to do okay for the money, others not so well. To date I have not tried any, but if I hear of people having good luck with your brand, I would be open to trying them.
Andreas Chen Thanks this. -
I never buy tires made in china. Period end of story......That used to be how I thought.
I had a set of roadmasters made by cooper in CHINA. And couldn't be happier.
NOW the MADE IN CHINA BY CHINESSSE COMPANY is a different story.
Those are such poor quality I would never touch those.
I currently run Yokohama made in Japan.
IM sure Made in China could make some great stuff, IF someone is there to hold a high standard, just like we do here or like japan does.Andreas Chen Thanks this. -
I have used Michelin tires for most of my career and I really don't see a reason to change. Why they are normally the spendy tires they have always treated me well and I have always felt I got my money out of them.
Moral of the story is truckers normally find a brand they like and trust and stick by it regardless what comes on the market.Andreas Chen Thanks this.
