Just give me a mirror and he'll come around!
Our loads are less about the miles and more about the unloads. I do get anywhere from 1800 (more store unloads) up to 2500 (less store unloads.). Since we are paid to unload at stores though, like I said it's less about the miles.
On a positive note, we are paid detention pay if we arrive at the shipper on time and are there for two hours.
That answer your questions?
Oh...and unloading isn't hard. It's really not. Pallet jack for merchandise and depending upon your area you may or may not have hanging clothing.pumpkinhead Thanks this. -
I will be on the forums later tomorrow, I have a run to get moving on in the next hour. So I best get ready.
Oh, I just remembered... We've two sides to dedicated. Some of us unload the trucks and others do similar to otr. Those who do the otr work have comparable miles per week but are paid higher by the mile since they do not unload the trucks.Last edited: Jul 14, 2015

So they pay pretty well for the unloading I'm guessing. How is JCPenney on parking if I get there too early in the morning? It's part of a mall, but if I backed into the loading dock would I be bothered by security?
-
Security usually isn't even there when we are as we deliver long before the mall opens in most cases.
Pay for unloading...it's subjective. I feel it's good, but another driver may think otherwise.
Your biggest issue with parking at malls isn't going to be security, 99% of the time they are very helpful. Some malls your front end sticks out of, so folks run a chance of hitting you. Plus some of these places have tight corners and you know how impatient folks get when they are behind a semi. Causes dumb stuff to happen.pumpkinhead Thanks this. -
GOH,,,,,,,not heard that for awhile..Werner had dedicated trailers for garments on hangers, crossbars that were notched to accept clothing on hangers..
Went to an MT lot once. Got all hooked up and checked the back to see if it was clean and dry,,,about 50 of these racks from tail to nose...crap. Had I knew,,I would have noticed a big GOH lettered on the nose. -
Oh and to the op, if you happen to be in the Atlanta area and want to find out more I have weekends off. They kept me out last weekend so I am required to take this coming weekend off. -
That event was about 15 yrs ago at a Sears Logistics Center near Dallas,,I never did that dedicated Sears gig,,just there to snag an MT..

There are still some old trailers around that begin with the letters GH and had to ask one day, and it meant that they were garmet hanger trailers.
