it's hard work on the production side. I think it has more to do with the lack of work ethic in this country anymore than it does the actual conditions. everyone wants something for nothing and weren't raised like those of us of a certain age who knows what it means to have a work ethic and take pride in it.
we have the same issues here in advance and that's in large part why they can't keep help down here. they get hired, see that they're actually going to have to dig in and do some real work, and they quit. that's why our loads run so far behind sometimes. it runs in cycles corresponding to new people coming in, getting trained and working a few weeks and quitting. then the loads suffer until they get the next batch of slackers in.
as far as 'losing' applications, that's across the board, not just leesport. there are 3 girls in recruiting and they're overwhelmed. I walked up there to check on a referral not too long ago and it's just more than they can do. reams and reams of paper everywhere. after seeing what they're dealing with in recruiting I'm amazed that at 6 weeks from application to orientation, mine was one of the 'easy' experiences compared to some others.
as far as the lack of interviews, the standards are just that high and most don't make the cut. that's not just leesport either but across the board......although leesport is the 'special' child lol the trips suck. most of them anyway. it is possible to do good miles up there and make good money but you gotta know how to run up there and manage your clock to the last minute. you gotta really like running up there to do it full time. most of us hate doing our rotation up there although ironically my best ever career week came running up there lol. I did meet one mentally ill guy out of advance transferring back up to leesport because he was from there lol good for him. he can have it

Thanks.
Oddly enough, after a week at my new job (and two weeks after my application) I got a rejection e-mail.
Whatever (but it did put me in a sour mood for the rest of the day)
I can never understand why SOME companies are constantly hiring, complain that they can't fill jobs, but reject applicants.
Just like I'm not going to find a job where all I have to do is show up for a few hours, surf the web for porn, go home and collect $60k.
Employers aren't going to find a guy with 30 years carpentry experience, a batchlor degree in electrical engineering, a 40 year flawless attendance record sitting around reading a three line classified ad in the Sunday paper and decide they want to work for $5.75/hr.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed and mxpx148 Thank this. -
