It's probably a large company. NC is a hot spot for freight and a large company would rather have their fuel paid for and get their truck out of a dead area fast.

It only takes a few of these types to really tarnish a company's image.
We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the lying & cheating scum of the Landstar XKM office.
****Alejandra is a LYING, CHEATING two faced SNAKE......
BEWARE !!!!*****
Lately the Landstar OSH office has become terrible low baller cheap freight broker's layely with smug, rude attitudes on top of it too.
They have heavy weight train axle loads that used to pay $3200 from Lewistown, PA to Laredo,TX area are now under $2800 and they keep dropping their rates lower, lower, lower.... We all know the rates coming out of that market in TX totally suck too.
There are many VERY GOOD Landstar agents out there ....but it only takes a few of the scum bags to really negatively impact their image.Last edited: Jul 26, 2015

Go haul for Scotlynn then. More shenanigans than TQL. I will never move another load for Scotlynn, regardless of the rate they claim they will pay.

Strike one: even if I got a good rate out of them, they call me and claim the load cancelled. Only to have them call back a few hours later and want to load me again. By this time I have already committed to somebody else.
Strike two: yes they will pay in 30 days. That is, if they actually open the email of your invoice and pod. I have email proof of when it was sent, 45 days at this point, and when I call to ask about payment, they say they never received pod/invoice. Never called to ask me to send it. I end up waiting another 30 days from the time they receive it for the second time.
Strike three: short me on a load. Do not claim I was late to shipper or not precooled, rather tell me they have no way to verify I was on time and precooled. So therefore I must be guilty. Agent at the office has since retired and they are "not able to access her email to verify my claim".
The last load I hauled for them was either Dec. 2014 or Jan. 2015. I don't remember. I will not be doing any more business with them. Here is the funny thing, I now get the exact same loads through another brokerage house, I never have to haggle over the rate, it is steady as she goes and as many loads as I want. No shenanigans .... yet.RedForeman and KB3MMX Thank this. -
Guess I got lucky. Maybe mailing the paper invoice with original POD helped? Nonetheless, I've seen you on here enough to be credible and will bump them down to last resort status on your report.
True that many brokers offering reefer freight serve the same shippers. More than once I've seen one posted I recognize and call someone I like better to book the load.gokiddogo Thanks this. -
They used to require mailing in the originals. They switched over to email invoice and pod sometime in 2014 I think.

I was calling about one of their loads earlier today....
