Just found the box on the fire wall. Is there a way to check it before I spend money to replace it for no reason.

You could just unplug it and check for any corosion on pins stuff like thst .

I'm not sure exaclly on how to test it.
But I know that's the box that gets it's info from the ecm.
It then sends the gauges the info.

If you know a buddy with another star see if he will let you try his on your truck just to see if it fixes your issue .

I'm willing to bet the box is funky

Every thing I've read doesn't tell what or how to trouble shoot for this problem and the control box that i replaced was pricey and didn't fix the problem. Wonder how much that box costs and what it's called ?

I think you would get more replies if you didn't hijack this thread and if you ask your question in the Peterbilt Forum.

So your looking for help, and you are saying that not one of the gauges on your dashboard works. Its not your ECC. If you could actually explain the problem in detail, I am sure someone can point you in the right direction. Does your DataStar work? Air, Pyro, Fuel, wipers, dash lights work? You do not have a muti plex connected gauge system, that came in around 04+. Where are you located, I have complete test dash board for this series of trucks.

Is there a fusible link associated with the instruments? I have seen this issue in the automotive side where a link would burn out due to a shorted charging system gauge.

Yellow plug on ECC pin F11 wire # 1N28A to Speedo pin #6 check continuity. Thats like the gauge ground, its called the "Gauge Ref = 5V"

Not sure what an ECC is but as I said I have replaced the control box located behind the dash cluster. Is the ECC the box on the fire wall at the clutch linkage? The only gauges that work are service, emergency, pusher axle air pressures [non mechanical], fuel and trans temp gauges all gauges that pertain to monitoring the engine are not. all dash lights are working with the exception of the warning light for the PTO. I have noticed that the heater control does not change functions only blows out the floor vent no defrost or dash ducts. the data star is lit up but shows no engine data it does show fuel level no other engine data not even the odometer. that's about as much detail as I have. I have checked and cleaned the grounds on the fire wall and battery. I am located in Maryland.
