I've read through over 200 pages of this thread so far and have gotten a lot of valuable info about the hiring process and the pretrip/road test. Can anyone tell me what specific items would cause an automatic fail on pretrip and road test? I know on the road test not to bump any curbs or coast to a stop. I drove a ten speed my first two and a half years with epes, but was issued a brand new automatic about 6 months ago. I'm hoping converting back to a ten speed won't be too hard when doing the test. I've been practicing the most thorough pretrips I've ever done to prepare for this test. I'm confident about passing both tests but would be devasted to fail either one for forgetting certain things that I wouldn't normally forget. So I at least want to make sure I don't forget the items that could cause an automatic fail.

It's all about how many items you miss. For me it was no more than 12 total on the whole pre trip. Not using three points of contact is an auto fail. Walking around the truck for a pre trip and not saying a word about what your looking at is an auto fail. Both have happened.

Driving stick is like riding a bike, you will never forget. Safety should tell you to drive as you feel comfertable. Use or don't use the clutch. The rest is common sense and also the safety manager will tell you what they expect you to do on the road test.

Thanks drozzer69. I have my pretrip and road test Tuesday morning at woodland, pa location but will be working out of Bedford, pa location if I get the job. Tuesday can't get here fast enough. Am still nervous, but not as nervous as I was before I started reading this thread. You and many other drivers have helped a lot of drivers get through this process and I hope to be another driver added to the Walmart team soon.
