    Yup it should be outlawed.....

I coast a lot into stop signs etc rather than downshift threw the low side.......

Mine doesn't have it as its an optional feature. It's called Eco-Roll

Unique to the I-Shift is a feature called Eco-Roll which allows drivers to save fuel while operating in top gear. The system automatically disengages the engine when the truck is rolling down long, slight downhill grades which require no torque input.

The engine is re-engaged when: the driver touches the brake; the speed reaches the engine brake set speed for cruise control; the driver touches the engine brake control stalk; the driver applies the throttle; or if the truck surpasses a pre-set speed limit.

Bo Hammerlid, product marketing manager with Volvo, compares the functionality of Eco-Roll to riding a bicycle downhill. He reasons that coasting down hills rather than pedaling saves energy – in this case fuel.

“No other transmission can save you fuel in top gear,” Hammerlid points out, noting most highway tractors operate in top gear 90% of the time.

The I shift has ups and downs such as that. Now I happily accepted a Freightliner with a great engine break that I know I can't use in certain places. It even sounds like a engine break on hi and not so much on low but it works great. Now to mention how much bigger the Cascadia is for my size and it seems to pull heavy loads better also.

    That cat is sketched out...

I've seen someone doing Georgia Overdrive coming down Monteagle. Got down to the bottom and saw him with smoking tires and brakes. And one LEO chasing him down.

That looks like a heck of a runaway ramp to hit if your screaming down a mountain. Rock on the right, concrete on the left. I think I would double down and ride it out over that one.

Woah. That must be a funky camera angle but that ramp looks like suicide.

Yeah. Unless I was really in a pinch, then I'd take the next one.
