I rarely have that problem since I found this technican, although prior to his tune it was a major problem.

The new Strykers (655, 955) have excellent adjacent channel rejection.

That would also be determined by who tuned it. Some are better than others.

I agree, tuning is part of the key but the truth is that the front ends are soooooo soooo broad that a bus can fit through it. I had an SBE formula D that was modified to actually tune the front end to that channel, it was a poor circuit job but the thing worked really well. I just got a few F-Ds in from an estate sale and thinking of trying that modification on one of them.

I agree that these cheap 10 meter rigs are junk from the factory. My tech re engineers
the agc circuit as well as the whole front end and somehow narrows or tightens up the whole front end to prevent front end overload as well as improving adjacent channel rejection while simultaneously improving receiver sensitivity to unheard of levels. In all fairness to the Icom 7000
he can get the receiver sensitivity down as low as -167db while preventing all the front end problems that would normally arise by making such a drastic change. It wasn't fair of me to compare a stock Icom to a heavily modified Magnum.

Part of a tune requires altering the agc circuit.

I thought you'd like this comparison of the noise in a stock receiver compared to the noise in a similar receiver with the 2SC2999.
    Less noise.
More signal. @ 100uv input sinad increased by 5.
Less distortion. @ 100uv input, THD reduced by .7%
