I got popped for that at the westbound scale house with an GR 800 Tadano on, we had it torn down so I was under 120,000 but we weren't sure if we would be so we had a heavier permit. I was impressed they were very nice about it, they let me get a revised permit and let me go.

    I think thats for me.

I'm pretty sure I will be at or just over 150k.

I'm roughly just shy of 60k empty,.. booking sheet says the machine is 88k. I'm pretty familiar with CAT machines and unless I'm mistaken,.. 345 machines with min 5yrd bucket and fuel are going to be well over 92 - 94k, It will be close. I'm at 1/2 tank fuel right now.

I'm guessing he'll wait until I scale it to determine if we need escort or not.

If rule is 120k,.. I dont see how we wont.

Even if that 345 is somewhat stripped down you will be over 120k.

Just looked up the permit rules for MD,.. says anything over 130k is treated as a super load and needs police escort for the entire route.

Yay me,. hope they can keep up.

I have no doubt about that.

Picking it up at Port America,.. guessing its a new machine shipped over here from Europe.

The older B models were under 100k. I've done a couple of those before for local deliveries. This will be the first one I've taken on the interstate and crossed state lines with.

My luck this might be a D or one of the newer E or 349 models.

Says 345 and I have a serial # plus everything else they will need. Just no permits yet.

Are you planning on scaling it out? I'm curious what it weighs.
