Going Over the Road with Knight

They are pushing (Head office in Phoenix) to have another 50% growth in 5 years, across the board.

 

Cheer up dude, we all have those weeks sometimes those months.

 

Yeppers, I was told the number was double. Eather way they are insane, to much to fast but its not my company so we will see. Im just along for the ride.

 

yep... It's great that a company wants to grow but growing too fast will be extremely detrimental in the long run and could put them in a serious financial bind

 

The 'big growth spurt' when I was there included selling the 'older' trailers and buying new ones---I still remember the front parking area of the Phx term being full of trailers for sale when 'we' drivers couldnt find an MT in the Phx area!!!! Need to keep more trailers available as many customers were ticked that they couldnt be supplied with MT's to load when they needed them...be prepared for it to happen AGAIN!!

 

Hey Fajo, noticed you are from Idaho. I just got accepted by Knight and start orientation next week in Idaho Falls. Will be doing reefer as well. Like the idea of having the freedom to turn down freight if you want. Any idea if they provide meals during orientation? Can't wait!

 

Lunch, yes. Dinner tho is on you tho. turning down freight has to be done with extreme caution. It could make you sit as it puts you to the bottom of the list for trucks needing loads. Not to mention its in the dispatchers best intrest to find you a good load, if you end up getting a crappy one its simply because it was the only option and its better then sitting makin no mula.

Anyways be safe, the guys in idaho falls are some good folks ans will treat you like a person.
