Van Wyk out of Sheldon IA. It's a reefer outfit, but they're a really good company. Excellent equipment very good pay and a terminal in Waynesboro VA. Tim P. is safety director in Sheldon and Cory and Josh work dispatch out of VA. Give them a call. Good luck to you.

What's up drivers my name is John and I'm fixing to start school a ATDS in Elmott, Tx. My recruiter there wants me to go to The PTL School for a year so I won't half to pay out of pocket. Do you think that's the right decision? Please respond ASAP.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Probably a bad idea, if your going to go with a coma that will pay for your training Schneider is the best of the bad.
I honesty would go work the docks at an ltl company and then move into a driving position. You will make more money as a dock worker then you will as a new otr driver and in the end you will have a better driving job. -
The school is recruiting for PTL. PTL is ok and usually just runs Eastern half of the USA. They do have a terminal in Los Angeles, but that's probably for teams is my guess. Most of your runs will be Eastern half though. PTL trucks have APU's which is a big plus.

Ahh I see one post, not very smart if he's recruiting. Good eye.

Tyson Foods hires new CDL grads and make about $60K per year.
Dartco
Pride Transport - trucks have refrigerator/xm radio/satellite tv.
Earl Henderson Trucking - new trucks arriving with refrigerator/APU/seats that heat or cool, etc.
Navajo Express - new Kenworths arriving with driver amenities.
JBS Carriers
Decker Truck Line
Submit lots of applications then choose the best job offer or the one that appeal to you the most.
PTL is OK to start with, but lots of other choices.
Submit job applications during the first week of CDL school; this gives you time to look over the job offers and hit the road as soon as you graduate.Last edited: Aug 11, 2015

When a company holds orientation you expect to see a handful of drivers not a hotel full. Tells you that they can't keep drivers.
