Well next Monday is my first day back. I'm going to do 6 months out of SLC and that should clear my entire debt. Then I'll be in a comfortable position to get a truck and/or go back to the tanker side of things. Pretty excited.

Last week I had my second highest $$$ week since I've been here.
When I run midwest or Northeast regional I never have any issue with rates and always do well.
So it could just be crappy areas you've been in.. maybe..
The week prior when I ran Mississippi, Oklahoma and etc I took a beating, it was a very difficult just to run at $1.50centralmi Thanks this. -
Honestly, I think trucking overall, authority, company driver, lease driver.........does't matter, is just one big hose job. Just depends on who will kiss you before they do you.......

Im doing pretty well. I just grossed 5100 this week. I ran PA for a while and then worked my way back south. I let the rates dictate my hometime. Since i live in Memphis i can take multiple 10 hr breaks at the house, so i really don't have to take days off
centralmi Thanks this. -
Yes he did it in 7 days bUT it was not all on the same settlement.
My point isn't there is no way to make money but if you say it's not getting harder with all that goes on you're just a liar.
I'm not saying you're a liar bUT it's not as easy as it was last year to do 6k on 1 settlement like I could last year. -
So that would mean 100% success or you're gullible.
My point is there's a failure rate and if over 9 months they retain an average of 34 a month the participation rate has to be about 200 a month.
That would equate to a 17% success rate. -
I've actually been doing better overall, the difference in my $ performance has not so much been better or worse loads more so just learning from experience, knowing what areas to avoid, what my bottom line rate is per lane etc etc.
Overall I'd say the Northeast is worse than when I started during the winter time but that's just probably because everybody left due to the storms and flooded the southern market.
Midwest is about the same.. Chicago is a little worse but Ohio a little better.
Just my view from how and where I run.
I never did a Texas load and as you know I'm rarely home in Tennessee so I don't know much about that.TennMan Thanks this. -

Money can be made here, no doubt about it. I am having another fantastic week since coming back from 5 days of home time.
It's all up to you and what you do...
Which is why some people make great money, some people make good money, some people break even, and some people go broke....
This is still hands down the best thing I can do in the area that I live in, where the median income is $30k!!!....
I could work two days a week and make that!....
Roll on...GoGetta07, freightwipper, scythe08 and 1 other person Thank this.
