This last little tidbit was left out of the other post where you said it was all you could do to NOT say something.

I only said I basically run midwest or Northeast regional, that was pretty much it.
I restrained myself after the whole "$1.10 700-800 miles runs is good money".

and what lanes might these be sir?

All I can say is that when I run midwest or Northeast regional which I've done 95% of the time since I've been here I've never had any issue with rates.
Now when I've ventured off elsewhere then all bets are off lol.

Oh to sc, sc to oh, oh to tn. And looking at rates coming out of Tennessee was a little on the weak side, maybe the area who knows, i do know that i ran the same area before and did alot better, still making money but just a observation, i have every load I've ran written down in a note pad, when i look over it i did the best april-may running the "midwest" im taking my ball and im goin back to the north! Lol

My husband is seriously considering the ic program, I was wondering how hard it is to clear 5000.00 a month after all costs running solo? Your posts, along with Tennman and a couple others implies that with proper planning you could bring home that and more but the lady at sni finance suggested we have too many bills for a single income. Last year we applied as a team and were accepted easily with all the same bills if not more, but due to an old accident report taking 5 months to get copies of we just let it go. And now I have a 20 day old grandson and was hoping to stay home.
When the oil prices were up he was making about 100k a year and I was making around 40k, so yeah we have a lot financed, but I quit work about a year ago and we have been fine on that income. Now with the market flooded we are cutting it close which is why we wanted to make the change. We are looking at the new KW so weekly's would be a bit higher but we think it's worth it for the fuel economy and warranties and it looks like we're going to have to go as a team to get the financing. Is there a thread on here for team owner operators? Reading everyones posts make me think it's safer to buy 2 trucks than to sign on as teams, but the teams offer a really nice sign on bonus. Thanks in advance.

As far as clearing 5k month..that shouldn't be an issue...also the freightliner gets just as good mpg...my trk is avg 8.03 since I got it end of may.....if you can be disciplined with your cost you can do well here...

5k should be easy to clear with little effort and common sesne yall be fine, BUT make sure you understand that you will be looking at a different load board then the solo drivers, we had a team in my orientation group walk because they didnt like what they saw, but thats them. Like someone says on here "results may vary" lol
