I've been using a good old fashioned straw broom for 3 years now. I find it easier than one of those big push brooms

Industrial supply like Granger will provide a broom with qualities like you have never experienced. Made in the USA too,,,,,

There's a 17.00 collapsible one at Home Depot which would fit under a bunk. It's fairly sturdy. I haven't destroyed mine yet.

    Key word there, " YET"

I think the leaf blower sounds feasible. Make sure you do while still on the dock plate, make sure the lumpers earn their sweeping pay.

Try an industrial quality one from a janitorial supply company. Some have support braces between handle and bristle part.

    Or Grainger (dot) com.

Sweeping is beneath me. So that's why I keep an Oompa Loompa in the side box .

What is it you haul that requires so much sweeping out the trailers. You don't need to use so much hard force to get the dirt, use the corner of the broom to get the dirt against the walls..You may need to use a hand wisk broom. The closer you get to the dirt the easier it is to remove but you have your back to consider as well.I wouldn't worry about getting it perfectly swept out as long as the customer doesn't say anything.

I'm an independent and I promise a clean trailer every load. Some loads make that harder than others (hay, shredded paper, floor loaded raw materials)

The shredded paper I hated to clean up,all those dots every where. Those were harder then the paper to sweep up.

Yeah, I think I get it all, but I still wind up seeing it over the next few weeks...
