new rule restriction E1

    I did road test on automatic transmission truck and now this ugly restriction sitting on my CDL what this means I cannot drive manual? I could not find in internet though. Anybody knowledgeable?

    If you want it taken off you are going to have to pass the test using a manual or find a company that is strictly automatic and will take new drivers on, Good luck with that

    schneider and transport america are movign to automatic trucks. with some in the fleets now.

    yes, but what will he do, if he hires on, then leaves..?? will he be able to find employment else where, if some bigger pay is offered, and he cannot drive a stick, due to his limits now..???

    i always said, test in a manual.....automatics would be a treat after that. with no limits..........

    There is definitely a move towards automatics but it is still going to be a few years before a fleet can totally do the switch and how many companies are going to hand over a brand new truck truck to a rookie driver.

    There are companies with automatics but the standard tranny still has them beat.Unless you're going with a company that has automatics I would suggest retaking the test with a standard.
