And on another note drive cam shots go to a third party for review. If the desk jockey spots something they send it to the company and they will review it.

Yes, but DAC report can say whatever...."Failed to comply with company policy." "Curbed a tire", etc.

Derp, sorry dude, but I'm not butthurt nor was I trying to insult anyone. Just calling it out as I see it. I usually don't like having to explain myself, but for those of you driving in the slow lane I will. Now, try to keep up. Swift did not lie about the cameras recording all the time. Any idiot with an ounce of common sense would know that the camera has to record constantly in order to save footage ten seconds before an event is triggered. And they have even said it records continually after the truck has been shut down "in case of events while parked." Although how it can record anything when hidden behind the curtains as I've heard the cascadia cameras are, I don't know. Swift has been up front with their information, either you didn't listen or you misunderstood.

I don't post on here often, but when I do I try to be helpful. I do read the posts on here everyday and what I do see are a lot of outsiders, drivers who don't now or never have driven for Swift post about things they don't know about. That is why I said I'm not a troll. I'm not a higher up in Phoenix, I'm not a recruiter, I'm not a driver manager or any other kind of desk jockey. I'm a driver, just like you. The difference is I'm happy driving for Swift. It's true I don't have a camera yet. Does that mean I don't have the right to point out when someone is wrong? It's a free forum, I can post (almost) anything I want. It's possible you're a new driver and didn't get all the news when Swift first brought out the cameras, so maybe you weren't aware that they record constantly (see common sense comment above), however, unless the recruiter or anyone during orientation specifically said that the camera does not record except during a critical event, nobody lied about anything. That's all I'm saying. If you don't like it, leave. No one is forcing you to stay. Otherwise, quityerbitchin, do your job as safely as possible and make some money.

    Happy trails.

I understand everyone's anxiety about this but can you blame Swift for installing cameras? If anything it covers not their ### but yours also. That way anyone out there that runs into you, try's to break into your truck, whatever is on video to prove it. Heck I'd want it just to say to weirdos or lot lizards roaming too close "Smile you're on camera".

....................... Did you read the the OP original post?????Seriously I'm not joking he knows all this. Swift told us that it would not record unless a CRITICAL event happen or you hit rough road now go back and read the original posters post.

And I just was speaking with my friend that I have know for 20+ years we met in basic training. He is very very high up in the company that supplies the dash cams to Swift, and he said anytime that red light is on it is saving what it is recording. Again go back to the original poster post and reread it again.

No cameras where I work; yet.

Should they ever put one in my truck, the only thing they'll see is me packing up my stuff. Then I'll walk into the office and quit.

I don't wish to be monitored like a prisoner.

These things are not only there to spy on you, they are there to transfer liability from the company to YOU.

Say you get into an accident, and it records you chatting on the CB, or your phone. The company will give the video to the lawyer that files the lawsuit as if to say 'Don't sue us the company, sue the driver, here's the proof he was distracted'

How many drivers are willing to bend over and take it, and how many are willing to fight?

Yes, I read the original post. And I just read it again to remind myself what it said. And what it says is exactly what Swift has said the cameras will do from the very beginning. It records constantly. It has to in order to be able to SAVE ten seconds of footage before and after a critical event. If there is no recording, there is no footage to save. Go back and read all the old posts about the camera and you'll see, this is what has been said from the beginning.

From what I can tell, maybe there has been a misunderstanding in terminalogy. And I will also admit that I was not on the phone with you with the recruiter or in your orientation classes, so no I do not know exactly what they have said. But all the information given out has clearly said that the cameras will record constantly, even while parked and the truck shut off during a break, but will only SAVE twenty seconds of footage when triggered by a critical event. There is a difference between "recording" and "saving". It only has so much memory space, it can't hold 24 hours worth of recording so it records on a constant loop overwriting itself, again only saving the critical events. Again, I don't really think anybody lied about the cameras, I just think it was a whole misunderstanding. Maybe I'm wrong. Again, I wasn't there. I only know that the information that has been presented from the beginning has been pretty direct and upfront about Swifts intentions and what the cameras can and will do. And that is what I'm trying to express. The original poster said that Swift lied because his camera is recording all the time. I'm simply saying that the camera is doing exactly what Swift has said it would do.

Wow, looking at @DODGERAM the 'Swift driver' extremely rude comments I'm starting to realize Swift doesn't want the truth coming out about their dash cams. It's funny @DODGERAM latest activity was posting on two topics about... you guessed it Dash Cams. Now why would any Swift driver in their right mind try to defend Swift and their forward facing always on camera? Now might I add why would any Swift driver in their right mind try to defend Swift and their forward facing always on camera...without even having one installed in their truck yet and try to troll and attack someone sharing their experience? lol Now I'm going to every Facebook trucking forum and tell the truth about Swift's dash cam. You Swift office guys are childish and the truth will get out. Oh yea, dodgeram has been active on here for like the last 9 hrs. When do you have time to drive man? Oh right, your at your comfy cubicle lurking. Man I hope you get payed good money for trolling people who disagree or tell the truth about your precious company. PS You've been exposed dodgeram

Ok, I will concede to that. Richard Stocking did say record only during critical events. In that one report. Ive also seen where they said it records all the time, only saving in certain events. Whatever. I still hold that Swift has not lied about the cameras. Maybe misspoke. But not outright lied. Whatever. It's really not anything to get bent totally out of shape over. You're going to believe what you want, as will I. If you really have a problem with it, leave, be happy, enjoy life, be safe.
