Maybe a better idea and try the big companies like swift work there for 6 months or until at least one of the 3 falls off the MVR..

I'm at Swift flatbed right now and can't really figure out where all the negative remarks about the company are coming from other than waiting 10-20 minutes for someone on the phone there's nothing you can't live with. The pay is a little less than other flatbed companies. I started out at .38 cpm but its easy to get 3,000 miles a week.
If you want a starter and aren't afraid to get #### on the CB about the name on your truck don't be afraid to give them a shot haha -
I never see swift flatbeds

Out of 25,000 trucks the company only has 300-400 flatbeds. If you're in flatbed at Swift your dm will know you by name, im enjoying the huge company small division feel.

Paschall Truck Lines - dry van
Western Express - has flatbed division
Carolina Cargo - reefers
USA Truck - dry van
Take what you can get for now and keep a clean record for the next 12 months. The most important thing right now is to get on the road immediately after graduation from CDL school. It doesn't look good if you delay going to work after getting your CDL.Last edited: Aug 19, 2015

Mcelroy is a good company for Tennessee. Melton would be as well as long as you didn't mind driver facing cameras. My choice would be McElroy due to home every Friday ( but most Sundays you will head back out to position for Monday am pickup or delivery)

I thought about western but I've read a bunch of horror stories. Maverick is working my stuff now and I have a pre hire from system transport that I just got this morning. Schneider bulk has approved me as well. My first choice is maverick. System will FLY me to Washington state I liked that. Western has the satellite in their trucks and I really like that. I just have read a bunch of horror stories here lately. Does anyone know anything about system?

I haven't heard anything back from McElroy! I will call them next week though. Melton also talked like I would get approved but I don't wanna do driver facing cameras.
