If it were cost effective and there convenient natural gas fueling stations along your route would you convert your truck to natural gas, or would you stick with diesel? Why?

Not4hire, thank you for your response. The post was intentionally vague. We are not after conversions here. What we want to know is why a truck operator would stick with diesel even if switching to natural gas could be cost effective and fueling stations were conveniently located. In other words, why do they prefer diesel over natural gas?

You kinda answered ur own question. If it were cheaper both in cost and maintenance with easy access a lot of folks would do it .
-
The biggest issue would be getting into the market to where big oil doesnt make it impossible to get in by either lobbying to make restrictions too tough or just run you out.
Then you would have a hard time getting customers until you have saturated the market. -

If I were running a local/short regional fleet I would consider natural gas. For OTR? Not at this time. Access/convenience and weight of equipment are primary concerns.
-
What makes you say that?
If it offers comparable power then most people would do it, its strictly a numbers thing.
