I posted this in a Heniff thread but that local job was not a good fit for me. Gave it a month to see if it got better. It was a no go. So....working for a new trucking company pulling tanks again. Tried to get back on with Superior but the TM did not seem too interested in having me back even though he told me I could come back if things did not work out at the local job. Not sure what was up with that. I have an idea though.

Anyway, pulling a dedicated product out of one place fairly close to me. It is an out and back gig and we run out to the mid-west and west coast a lot. Miles are good. Cpm is the same as Superior. Paid for loading and unloading, quarterly safety bonuses and annual longevity. BCBS health insurance, vacation, holiday pay. Seems pretty good so far. Home time is good. Usually out 7-8 days then home for 2-3 days.

Glad to hear you landed on your feet.

7-8 days is out a bit longer than your dedicated route at Superior was isn't it? How is the back holding up? My guess is that's why they didn't take you back. Afraid of insurance costs.

    rubberducky68 Thanks this.

How do you like that Volvo? I've wondered why we didn't go with them, they seem like nice trucks.

I remember our shop guys talking about how hard the Volvos were to work on when we tested 30 or so 6 or 7 years ago. High Point never got any then.

Yeah 7-8 days is longer than what I was doing but it is not too bad. I was only gone 5 days this past run. My back is fine. I never said anything to my TM about my back maybe other than one time when I asked about getting a different seat. But I would not think that would keep them from taking me back. I was there 3 years without any issues. I am not the kind of person that would milk a company for bucks by abusing the system anyway.

I am going to stick this new job out for a bit and see how it goes. Overall it is pretty good. There are a few things I don't like but that is going to be anywhere.

Love the Volvo. Very smooth riding truck. I have a lot more room in it than the Macks. Mine has a Cummins ISX 15 in it. Pulls good on the hills.
