    I am currently in training with a major company and today a student was booted from the program for a failed drug test. Now he did pass the urine test earlier this week however his hair test came back positive for something, no idea what but a good guess would be weed. Now I am curious what is going to happen in his situation
    - Will the company give him the chance with another test
    - Does this fail record go on his record
    - Will this prevent him from finding employment with another company

    Little bit surprised the company did not request a test before the actual training began

    He does NOT need to hold a CDL. Period, End of Story.

    I couldn't give 2 damns less for him.

    Unless you are the failure and are posting this on behalf of your "Friend". Either way, scroll up and read my previous comments.

    The student admitted to smoking weed to the instructor over six months ago and was worried that since they took hair off his chest that there was an outside chance he would fail the test

    Nope my drug tests came back clean as a whistle and am moving on to the second phase of the training come next week

    I call b.s. as hair testing regulations are only allowed a 90 day window. Also this person should have just walked out.

    I'm not sure if they can report it or not actually since it is not a DOT accepted method of testing (yet) and since it's a training deal he probably wasn't 'officially' an employee

    If they ever start requiring hair tests over urine I think I'll shave all the hair from my body except my ### just so I get some entertainment out of it.

    Curious if DOT does not consider a hair test lawful or whatever then why are companies using them is it an insurance requirement. Urine covers the last thirty days so I guess that is not long enough? I am north of the border and not sure if that has anything to do with it
